Changing Roles

Didak glanced at the members of the Risk Elimination Team, paid them no mind, and waved for the Demolition Team to leave.

He had barely taken a step when a cry of alarm rang out behind him.

"It still has fire!" It seemed to have come from one of the Risk Elimination Team members.

This was followed by a thunderous boom. Before anyone could react, the ground shook. Amid brief screams, a Fire Thunder that had somehow been delayed released its full power.

In just a tenth of a second, it blasted several nearby Risk Elimination Team members into the air. They hit the ground, their fate unknown. The closest one had his iron armor completely shattered and was killed by the shockwave outright. His entire body looked like a blood bag pierced by needles, blood streaming out uncontrollably.

Didak and his group turned around. Even though they had been mentally prepared, their mouths still fell open at the horrific scene.

"Damn!" someone cursed.

"That's awful," even more people said, shaken by the sight.

Only the burly Wulusi remained expressionless. He did not look at the scene, but up at the sky.

A small piece of rubble blasted away by the explosion was flying high overhead.

Normally, given all the protective measures in the area and the distance separating the inside from the outside, there was no way this stone could hurt anyone.

Yet it flew higher and higher, tracing an almost impossible arc. Then, with near-impossible odds, it rapidly fell toward Wulusi. A bang rang out as it struck Wulusi on the head, sending blood spurting.

Wulusi's body jolted, and he fell straight backward.

"Ah!"

His companions cried out in alarm.

Didak, who was temporarily leading the group, turned to look at Wulusi. It took him about a second
