Encounter

At dusk.

Wulusi followed Hua Wen into the factory at the foot of the mountain.

People bustled back and forth through the factory. Hua Wen walked ahead, leading Wulusi straight onward and deeper inside.

As Wulusi walked, he kept looking around with apparent curiosity, observing the unevenly scattered buildings throughout the factory.

After walking some distance, Wulusi spoke. Pointing at a shed being expanded in the distance, he asked Hua Wen, "Captain Hua Wen, what is that place?"

"That?" Hua Wen casually glanced in the direction Wulusi indicated and replied indifferently, "That's where ore brought down from the mountain undergoes fine processing. There's nothing much to see."

"I see. Then... what about over there?" Wulusi pointed again, this time at a low shed where quite a few people could be seen going in and out.

Hua Wen glanced at it and answered once more, "That's a temporary warehouse for storing ore. The finely processed ore is put inside. Once it's sold, people load it onto carriages and transport it away."

"Oh." Wulusi nodded and raised his hand for a third time, pointing toward an inconspicuous-looking factory building in a corner. It looked desolate, with hardly anyone visiting it, forming a stark contrast to the bustle elsewhere.

"Captain Hua Wen, what is that place?"

Hua Wen looked over, his brows shooting up as he turned to glare at Wulusi. This time, instead of answering, he snapped impatiently, "Damn it, why are you asking so many questions? Now that you're in this factory, just do your work properly. Don't ask about things that have nothing to do with you."

After scolding him, Hua Wen finally said, "That place? It used to be a small warehouse, but it's abandoned now. I heard there's some poisonous gas left inside. Anyway, don't go near it
