On the night of the Agricultural God Festival, Kathy and Harry learned more philosophy, gained a clearer understanding of the path they would take in the future, and what they would have to pay for it.
Meanwhile, their teacher—Richard—was working single-mindedly in Eden Garden.
As for Richard, he had chosen his path many years ago and understood clearly what price he would have to pay. He had no regrets about it.
Because he knew that only if the path he had chosen could be opened would everything have meaning.
Otherwise, all other pursuits might ultimately be nothing more than dream bubbles—beautiful to look at, but bursting at the slightest poke.
But could that path truly be opened?
In Eden Garden, within the underground laboratory with the strictest protective measures, a certain room contained an enormous reaction pool already filled with corrosive acid.
Richard entered wearing a Hazmat Suit. Without hesitation, he swiftly opened the Lead Box on the floor and poured the mineral powder inside into the reaction pool.
"Glug, glug!"
The specially processed mineral powder was extremely fine and took up very little volume. To some extent, this increased its contact area with the acid and accelerated the reaction.
Thus, the moment the mineral powder came into contact with the acid, a violent reaction began, producing a great number of bubbles.
The acid on the surface of the reaction pool churned continuously, like boiling water.
Richard was not at all surprised. He kept pouring box after box of mineral powder into the reaction pool, using mana to make the acid rotate and thoroughly stir it, dissolving all the mineral powder.
In the end, the liquid filling the entire reaction pool turned a deep, dark green, like a door leading into an abyss, radiating an eerie aura.
