This was a mountain right beside a lake, several hundred meters tall, with rather lovely scenery. But because of its remote location, and because few people in the current world had the leisure to appreciate beautiful sights, it was usually deserted.
In the night, a streak of gray light swept across the sky, then suddenly dropped toward the ground.
"Bang! Splash!"
With a soft sound, Richard's sheepskin boots touched the ground. He stood at the foot of Blue Lake Mountain, facing the mountain with the enormous lake—Blue Lake—behind him.
He lowered his head slightly and looked at the water splashed around his boots. Slowly lifting one foot, he saw murky water gathering in the indentation left by his step.
Richard raised an eyebrow and reached out to touch the air, sensing the heavy moisture. Turning his head toward Blue Lake beneath the cover of night, he saw clusters of white mist drifting from the center of the lake, wrapping around Blue Lake Mountain like cotton candy.
Turning back, he looked up toward the mountaintop. The entire Blue Lake Mountain was shrouded in clouds and mist, giving it an unreal feeling.
This is obstructing my vision a little... the thought flashed through Richard's mind.
A scarlet gleam flickered in his eyes as he activated the night-vision function of Dark Vision and started toward the summit of Blue Lake Mountain.
As he walked, he remained alert, observing his surroundings and searching for any possible trace of Long Mei Er.
He continuously stepped through grass covered in water droplets. His sheepskin boots gradually became damp and heavy, while his clothes clung to his body from absorbing moisture from the air. By the time he reached the mountainside, his entire body was enveloped in dense humidity.
