Background & History

The Dragon Clan was born from the essence of heaven and earth after Pangu's Heaven-Opening. Alongside the Phoenix and Qilin Clans, it became one of the three great primordial races. Dragons possessed innate divine power and exceptionally durable bodies, which made ordinary magical artifacts ineffective against them. 313 318

During the Dragon-Han Initial Tribulation, the Dragon Clan fought the Phoenix Clan and later temporarily allied with it against the Qilin Clan. Luohu reignited the Dragon–Phoenix conflict, and the Dragon Clan severely wounded Yuan Feng in a surprise attack. The war left the clan diminished, although it retained control over the Four Seas. 313 76

Despite its decline, the clan remained proud of its former dominance. It was described as the most arrogant and overbearing of the three great races, with ambitions to unify the Wild Continent. 32

Conflict with Qing Tian

The Dragon Clan first clashes with Qing Tian after several dragons attempt to abduct Meng Wu. Qing Tian kills the attackers, including a Dragon King’s son, prompting the clan to issue a Hunt Order against him. 14

The clan subsequently pursues a marriage alliance with the Phoenix Clan through Qiu Niu and Meng Wu. Qing Tian interrupts the alliance, kills Qiu Niu and the Dragon Clan Great Elder, and forces the Phoenix Clan to cancel the arrangement. 27 29 30

Ancestor Dragon and Candle Dragon later confront Qing Tian over the Ancestor Dragon Pearl. Candle Dragon mobilizes the clan's elite through the Myriad Dragon Refining Realm Great Formation, but Qing Tian defeats the Dragon Clan leadership, refines the pearl, and forces Candle Dragon to surrender treasures and open a cultivation dojo in the Eastern Sea. 33 34 35

Decline, Secrecy, and Recovery

After the Dragon-Han Tribulation, the clan hides much of its surviving strength beneath the East Sea. Its sealed Primordial-era experts are bound by the Heavenly Dao to suppress the earth veins and cannot freely use their mana. 77

Candle Dragon eventually accepts Qing Tian's offer of Primordial Violet Qi, seeking a path to sainthood. Qing Tian later advises the Dragon Clan to unite the four sea palaces so that the Immortal Court cannot defeat them separately. 77 112 130

The Dragon Clan also forms an enduring alliance with the Witch Clan when Di Jiang comes to its aid against the Immortal Court. Candle Dragon promises eternal friendship if both clans survive the crisis. 146

Ao Bing's Rise and the Unification of the Four Seas

Candle Dragon and Ao Yi place the Dragon Clan's future in Ao Bing, who is chosen to attempt the absorption of Dao Affinity from a preserved arm of Pangu. Previous Dragon Kings who tried to absorb this power were crippled or killed by the backlash. 171 172

Ao Bing's breakthroughs transform the clan's position. After reaching the Dao Integration Realm, he becomes stronger than Candle Dragon and Ao Yi; later, he reaches the seventh level of that realm and succeeds Ao Yi as Dragon King. 193 211

As Dragon King, Ao Bing moves to end the long-standing division among the East, West, South, and North Sea Dragon Palaces. He subdues the North Sea after defeating Crown Prince Ao Xu, and his rule eventually unifies all Four Seas Dragon Palaces. 236 259 263

Later Wars and Corruption

With the Witch Clan, the Dragon Clan opposes the alliance of the Phoenix Clan, Qilin Clan, Human Race, and Demon Court. At Juntun Mountain, Ao Bing leads a hundred-thousand-strong Dragon Palace army, supported by Candle Dragon and Ao Yi. 349 352

The clan preserves most of its elite strength during the prolonged conflict, while its Dragon Palace auxiliaries—shrimp soldiers and crab generals—bear much of the attrition. It turns its attention toward the Phoenix Clan and uses Nine Heavens Extreme Cold Ice Water to prevent phoenix resurrection. 349 361 362

Its resurgence does not last. Internal traitors attack fellow dragons, Dragon Kings die after confronting Xuanyuan, and the clan is increasingly abandoned by outside powers. An unknown faction later offers the Dragon Clan a powerful cultivation technique in exchange for ten years of service. Although several elders oppose the arrangement, some dragons accept it; the technique corrupts the clan and drives many members into violent instability. 376 381 382

Appearance

The Dragon Clan consists primarily of true dragons, ranging from ordinary five-clawed divine dragons to immense golden dragons of twelve or twenty-four claws among its highest-ranking members. 14 112 352
