Retsu Unohana shook her head gently. "Using blackmail? Will that be all right?"

"Yeah, it's fine." Yuko knew what Unohana meant. "I figured something like this might happen, so I made them out of clay."

Yachiru looked down at the clay figure in her hand and pouted. "This one's really ugly."

Yuko frowned. "That's going too far, isn't it? Someone put a lot of effort into making that for you. Is it really okay to say that?"

"...I know." Yachiru's eyes dimmed. "That was mean of me..."

Retsu Unohana was a little surprised. She hadn't expected Yuko to have such a serious side.

Then Yuko asked, "So if I made you one and told you to smash that one, would you?"

Yachiru looked up at her, a question in her eyes.

You mean it?

I mean it.

Yuko gave a slight nod in reply.

Yachiru hurled the clay figure to the floor, where it shattered into pieces.

Yuko patted her head. "It was ugly, right?"

Yachiru nodded. "Baldy really did make it ugly."

Even with sentimental value, it was hard
