Yuko had always been prone to acting crazy, and Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto had known it for ages. That did not mean he had grown immune to it.

Yuko planted both hands on the desk and said gravely, "Captain-General, I came here about a matter that concerns the future morale and fighting spirit of the Gotei 13."

Yuko took a deep breath and launched into an impassioned speech. "Old man, you know how much has happened lately. First Aizen defected and took three captains with him, weakening the Gotei 13. Then the Zanpakuto rebelled. Soul Reapers had to fight their own other halves, and it left behind a huge number of Blade Beasts..."
Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto lost patience and cut her off. "Get to the point."
"Ahem." Yuko cleared her throat. "The rank-and-file are on edge, and their morale has hit rock bottom."
Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto's face darkened further. He had figured it out now: whatever this girl wanted, it was nothing serious.

She delivered every word with ringing conviction.
