A Legend played out bit by bit: Dumbledore in the dream being Sorted, enrolling, meeting the professors, greedily and methodically studying in the Hogwarts Library.

Outside the dream, Headmaster Black came and went repeatedly, routinely reporting Dumbledore's orderly experimental procedures and upcoming arrangements. Everything was as peaceful as if it had all been planned in advance.

As the experiment continued, Andrew had lunch with the headmasters, then resumed playing A Legend.

"Albus said it was beautiful outside, as though there were a halo around this beautiful planet. Most of it was surrounded by water, so immense that one could not even conceive of casting magic upon it..."

"On the spacecraft, operating the equipment to carry out the experiments in the plan."

"Please tell the professor," Andrew shook his head, "that although our schedule is quite generous, if he keeps this up, I may have no choice but to make him stay behind during the next trip to the moon."

"Stay behind?"

"The headmaster ought to guard the school. That is the proper order of things. Exploration and discovery should be left to the Ministry of Magic and the professors. What is strange about that?"

Andrew spread his hands—he knew it. Headmasters would always side with headmasters. Dumbledore did not look like the obedient sort at all.
