(This is my first time writing a Primordial World novel. I hope readers will be understanding. I wish all readers happiness and for them to find love soon!)
After the great tribulation of ferocious beasts was cleared, the Primordial World entered a period of recuperation. Gradually, the Primordial land began to show vitality once more.
Spiritual treasures continuously appeared between heaven and earth, and life was born. The scene of vibrant life and thriving competition was still vivid in their minds.
All races flourished, with the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin clans being the most prominent. These three clans fought amongst themselves, further fueled by Demon Ancestor Rahu, who stirred up trouble, fanned the flames, and secretly attacked and harmed others.
Tribulation energy surged throughout heaven and earth…
After a period of fierce fighting, the clan leaders Ancestral Dragon, Yuan Feng, and First Qilin all perished. The three clans were forced to withdraw from the struggle for dominance in the Primordial World.
The Dragon clan guarded the sea eyes. Holy Venerable Azure Dragon constructed the Eastern Azure Dragon Realm, stationed at the extreme north of heaven to secure a sliver of hope for the Dragon clan.
The Phoenix clan guarded the Undying Volcano. Holy Venerable Vermilion Bird constructed the Southern Vermilion Bird Realm, stationed at the extreme south of heaven to secure a sliver of hope for the Phoenix clan.
The Qilin clan was rather unlucky. Holy Venerable White Tiger and Holy Venerable Black Tortoise had already occupied the extreme north and west of heaven.
They were half a step too late. There was nothing they could do but hide in the mountains and become "hermits."
With this, the Dragon-Phoenix-Qilin tribulation also drew to a close!
Above the East Sea
There was a divine mountain called Fangzhang.
On the misty mountaintop stood an immortal crane, appearing and disappearing amidst the clouds.
"No way~"
A cry filled with modern sensibilities shattered the tranquility. Shi Yu stared at his own pure white wings, his expression priceless. He didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"My graduation thesis isn't even started yet! My graduation certificate, is it just going to fly away like this? I've been single for over 20 years, I haven't even held a girl's hand, I don't even know what love feels like..."
He muttered to himself, but soon came to terms with it. "Forget it, cultivating immortality is the way to go. What's a graduation certificate compared to the thrill of cultivation?" With that, he closed his eyes and began to feel his innate "Primordial World User Manual"—his inherited memories.
In a short while, he understood the situation. He had transmigrated to the legendary Primordial World.
He was currently standing on Mount Fangzhang in the East Sea, and he was even an innate spiritual being closely connected to the Great Dao of Taiji and the Great Dao of Water—the Tai Xu Shui Yun He.
A colossal, snow-white immortal crane phantom materialized on the divine mountain, adorned with faint azure Dao patterns. Its wings were imprinted with Taiji symbols, and several azure ribbons intertwined around its feathers.
"Caw~~"
The Tai Xu Shui Yun He phantom lifted its slender neck and let out a melodious and resonant cry.
This clear cry attracted countless people searching for opportunities in the East Sea.
Among them, the highest cultivators were two rogue cultivators from the West. They had two reasons for coming here.
Firstly, the ancestral mai of the West was currently occupied by Rahu. They couldn't return for now, and even if they did, it would be in vain. Being taken in as Rahu's lackeys would be considered fortunate!
Secondly, all the heavenly treasures and earthly resources in the West had been swept away by Rahu. Hearing of the East's abundance, they came specifically to forge some connections and also to visit relatives.
As the saying goes, visiting relatives, while visiting, they might become close. When you're navigating the Primordial World, having more friends means more paths!
After all, in the Primordial World, having more friends means more ways to survive. Perhaps one day, you could rely on a friend to achieve greatness.
"Senior Brother, this commotion must mean an Innate Spiritual Treasure is about to appear!" Zhunti's eyes widened, and he excitedly tugged on Jieyin's sleeve. "The East is truly wonderful, with opportunities everywhere. We should come here more often to forge connections."
"Let's go! This Innate Spiritual Treasure must be fated to be with us, hahahaha." Zhunti grinned so wide his ears seemed to stretch.
Yellow clouds rose beneath Jieyin and Zhunti's feet with a "whoosh." Their speed was so fast that other cultivators could only stare enviously.
On the divine mountain, the Tai Xu Shui Yun He flickered and transformed into its Innate Dao Body form. Shi Yu, clad in a white robe, stretched his limbs and surveyed his surroundings.
"Hmm?! I'm an innate being, so no one should dare provoke me for now." He muttered to himself. "Right, innate beings all have companion spiritual treasures. Where's mine?"
As he was thinking, three azure lights emerged, transforming into three spiritual treasures.
"Cloud Void Water Fan!" "Azure Water Spirit Pearl!" Shi Yu was delighted.
The first two were his companion spiritual treasures. The Cloud Void Water Fan was a top-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure, while the Azure Water Spirit Pearl was slightly inferior, a high-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure.
But when he saw the third spiritual treasure, he was completely stunned. It was a milky white jade stone with no spiritual energy fluctuations, like an ordinary rock.
"Could this be a companion kidney stone?" Shi Yu's eyes widened. "What a joke, innate beings get kidney stones?" This strange stone made him forget about the top-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure.
Just then, a yellow cloud slowly landed on Mount Fangzhang. Zhunti and Jieyin had arrived.
"Wonderful, wonderful! A place brimming with spiritual essence!"
"This must be fated with our West!"
Jieyin stood at the foot of the mountain, his eyes shining as he gazed at the divine mountain. This was a newly emerged Blessed Land, and it surely held great opportunities!
"Senior Brother is right, this divine mountain is definitely fated with our West." Zhunti nodded, already contemplating how to move the mountain.
At this time in the Primordial World, Hongjun was gathering people to go to the West and deal with Rahu. Jieyin and Zhunti thought that once Rahu was dealt with, they could return to the West and regroup.
Yes, it would be like returning home triumphantly! It would be even better if they could bring back a few Innate Spiritual Treasures and powerful disciples.
However, the West was now impoverished by Rahu, like a ruined household that had been robbed. But the spiritual veins were still there; at least the load-bearing walls remained. There was still some hope, and they wouldn't be completely destitute.
The two of them rushed to the mountaintop and saw Shi Yu, who was lost in thought, their eyes widening.
"Good disciple, and Innate Spiritual Treasures too! Such incredible luck!" Zhunti was so excited he was practically dancing.
"Junior Brother, this must be the Heavenly Dao favoring us. This trip to the East has been incredibly profitable," Jieyin said, unable to stop smiling.
The two of them, one staring at Shi Yu, the other at the spiritual treasures in the air.
"Top-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure, high-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure..." Zhunti muttered incessantly. They were practically starving. The West had already been scoured clean by Rahu.
"Junior Brother, this white jade is a bit strange. I can't see through it," Jieyin said with a frown, looking puzzled.
"Senior Brother, forget about that for now. Quickly take this kid as our disciple. Treasures and disciples will all be ours," Zhunti tidied his clothes, "Whoosh!" He sprang forward and appeared behind Shi Yu.
Shi Yu felt a chill down his spine. He turned around and saw Zhunti's face full of smiles, a smile that looked worse than crying, like a crumpled bun.
Before Shi Yu could speak, Zhunti began to introduce himself: "This humble Taoist is Daoist Zhunti. Today, I see that Young Friend's bone structure is exceptionally good, and you have a connection with the West. I have come specially to take you as my disciple."
As soon as he finished speaking, Jieyin also came over and introduced himself. Looking at the two of them, they seemed like street scammers.
Shi Yu felt conflicted. On one hand, he felt that these two were future Sages, quite powerful, and important figures. On the other hand, he felt that these two guys looked unreliable. So, he politely refused:
"I appreciate your kind intentions, but we've only just met and aren't very familiar yet." He thought to himself, Could these two really have skin as thick as the legends say?
Jieyin wore his signature fake smile and said, "Young Friend, our West is a wonderful place, filled with spiritual treasures and rare materials everywhere. If you were to become my disciple, I guarantee your path to the Great Dao would be promising, your future bright, and your prospects brilliant."
Although their own cultivation wasn't top-tier, their ability to paint a rosy picture was second to none.
Shi Yu just smiled and said nothing, thinking about how to escape. Should he fly into the sky, dive into the sea, or dig a hole in the ground? This was truly a difficult problem.
Seeing that Shi Yu wasn't speaking, Jieyin thought he was wavering and secretly rejoiced: A mere child, he'll be in our grasp in no time.
So, the two of them, one after the other, desperately painted a beautiful future of the West for Shi Yu, wanting to lure him there.
But Shi Yu remained like a wooden statue. No matter how eloquently they spoke, no matter how flowery their words, he was unmoved.
"Become your disciple? Don't even think about it. When you become Sages in the future, you'll surely be burdened with a mountain of debt. If I follow you, won't I gain no merit and end up empty-handed, even having to pay out of my own pocket!"
"Isn't your Western Teachings just a large debt-processing center? You become indebted the moment you join? What's the difference between that and falling into a cesspool at the start?" Shi Yu grumbled inwardly.
Zhunti and Jieyin had been talking for a long time, their mouths dry and throats parched. Jieyin waved his hand, and a clear spring floated over. He wanted to take a drink before continuing his deception.
"I truly appreciate your kind intentions, but I don't have the karmic affinity for a master-disciple relationship with you."
Shi Yu shook his head and started to make up a story: "My master is an incredibly powerful being, who rides on colorful auspicious clouds and is invincible in the world. You guys are definitely not my master."
The two of them didn't know if Shi Yu was telling the truth or lying, but judging by his expression, they guessed he was bluffing. However, they weren't discouraged. Jieyin said, "It doesn't matter. We'll just wait here. Perhaps we can even meet this mighty being." The two of them were like sticky plasters, clinging to Shi Yu.
Little brat, I, Zhunti, have roamed the Primordial World for so many years. How could I be fooled by you, a mere youngster?
Seeing the situation, Shi Yu knew he had to run. His eyes darted, and he pointed to the sky, shouting:
"Look! My master is here to pick me up!" Then, he "Whoosh!" transformed into the Tai Xu Shui Yun He and desperately flew towards the horizon, his speed was incredible.
