Chaotic Town

Yun Feiyang held the map and studied it, looking quite troubled.

"You didn't read the direction wrong, did you? You aren't lost, are you?"

"Lost? Impossible! I could never get lost in my life! Absolutely impossible!"

Mira was startled. "I just asked a casual question, why are you reacting so strongly?"

"Do I? This is a normal reaction!"

Lisanna suddenly exclaimed, "Look, there are buildings ahead!"

The group looked up, and sure enough, there were!

"Let's go, let's check it out!"

Upon reaching the front, they discovered it was a small town.

"Toma Town!"

"To think there would be a place like this in the middle of the forest!"

"It seems quite lively. Let's go in and take a look!"

It was indeed very lively—perhaps a bit too lively!

People could be seen arguing and brawling everywhere; there were even people lying dead in the depths of the alleys. In short, it was a complete mess.

Yet, this didn't seem to affect the vendors calling out their wares. They turned a blind eye to the chaos before them, as if they were already accustomed to it.

Furthermore, Yun Feiyang could sense that from the moment the four of them stepped into the town, many malicious gazes had been frequently cast their way from the shadows.

"It seems this isn't a very good place."

"Yeah, I have the urge to destroy this place."

"Brother-in-law, Mira, maybe we should just leave!"

Lisanna was a bit scared.

"It's fine, I'm here!"

Mages. In Yun Feiyang's perception, there were many Mages here, though they were quite weak.

"You think you can just leave after stealing something?"

It was Elfman's voice!

The three of them quickly turned their heads and saw Elfman being grabbed by a merchant, the two of them locked in a dispute.

"Let go of Elfman!"

The merchant looked the group up and down, then chuckled, "You're all together, right? Your friend stole my property. What do you have to say for yourselves?"

"Bullshit! My brother would never steal anything!"

"Exactly! You don't look like a good person yourself!"

The merchant said viciously, "Trying to play dumb? You're all in on this! You dare cause trouble here? Do you believe me when I say I won't let you walk out of here alive?"

"Is he threatening to kill us? How terrifying!"

Yun Feiyang asked Elfman, "What's going on?"

"He's framing me!"

Elfman pointed at a doll and said, "He wanted 100,000 J for it. I didn't want to buy it, so he claimed I stole his merchandise!"

"I had another one just like it that went missing! It must have been you!"

"I didn't!"

Well, the situation was clear enough. The merchant saw that Elfman was honest and was trying to extort him.

"Your word means nothing. I have to search you! And since you're all together, none of you are getting away!"

The merchant leered and walked toward Lisanna, "Little cutie, let's start with you!"

"Go to hell!"

Mira kicked him to the ground and kept stomping on him, "Search, huh? Search, huh? I'll let you search!"

"Haha... Lal, looks like you ran into some tough customers!"

"You pervert, you finally got what was coming to you!"

"Serves you right!"

The onlookers were unfazed, watching the scene as if it were a show.

"Stop! You dare hit me? Do you know who I am?"

"I don't care who you are! You tried to bully my brother and then my sister? I'll slaughter you!"

Mira wasn't satisfied with beating the merchant half to death, so she proceeded to smash his stall to pieces.

"Woof! Woof! Woof!"

Little White's urgent barking caught Yun Feiyang's attention. He turned his head to look!

Good grief, Lisanna had already been forcibly carried away by someone, her mouth clamped shut!

"You're courting death!"

Yun Feiyang flashed forward, catching up to rescue Lisanna from the kidnapper's grasp.

"Brother-in-law! Wuu wuu..."

"It's okay, it's okay now!"

Yun Feiyang comforted Lisanna as he walked back.

"This godforsaken place, you really can't let your guard down for even a second!"

As the two left, the kidnapper, who had been standing there motionless, suddenly had a gash open up across his neck. Blood sprayed out, and he collapsed headfirst to the ground!

The hearts of those nearby skipped a beat!

"That's an expert!"

"I didn't even see how he made his move!"

"Scatter, scatter! This isn't someone we can afford to provoke!"

With that small display of skill, the situation was brought under control, and the malicious gazes finally vanished.

"Are you alright, Lisanna?"

"I'm fine. Thank goodness Brother-in-law saved me in time!"

"What kind of hellhole is this, anyway? Why is it so chaotic?"

"Forget it, never mind that. Let's find a place to rest for a bit, then get out of here!"

The four of them found a decent-looking tavern and walked inside.

The moment they entered, everyone in the room turned their eyes toward them.

Seeing that they were just a group of children, the gazes of those present shifted to mockery or malice!

"What are you looking at? Do you believe I'll beat you up?"

Mira even revealed her Demon Arm.

Who would have thought that not only were these people not afraid, but they burst into laughter instead!

"Little sister, ferocity isn't something you can just put on!"

"That little trick of yours won't scare us!"

However, they did withdraw their unscrupulous gazes, acknowledging the four of them to some extent.

The four of them found a spot to sit down.

"Boss, bring us whatever you have that's edible!"

"Please wait a moment!"

Mira felt both frustrated and puzzled. "Why aren't they afraid of me?"

"Because they are all Mages!"

"Do Mages not fear demons?"

Yun Feiyang shrugged, picked up the food that had been brought over, and started gnawing on it. He even downed a large mug of ale in one gulp.

"Refreshing!"

"Hey! You're a minor, you can't drink alcohol!"

"That's none of your business!"

What a joke. Having lived two lifetimes, my combined age is enough to be your ancestor—and I can't drink?

"By the way, you asked us to join the guild, but you haven't even told us what the guild is called."

"Huh? I haven't?"

Mira roared, "No!"

Lisanna and Elfman also shook their heads.

"Then that is truly rude of me! Our guild is called Fairy Tail!"

"Fairy Tail?"

A man at the neighboring table frowned and said, "I recall this being a legitimate guild, right?"

"That's right. I know this guild; their Guild Master is a powerful Mage among the Ten Wizard Saints, but as for the other members, their strength is quite mediocre!"

"Since it's a legitimate guild, then..."

The three people at that table stood up and shouted, "Everyone, flies from a legitimate guild have snuck in! They're from Fairy Tail!"

These words triggered a massive reaction; the people in the tavern stood up one after another and crowded around!

"What's wrong? What happened?"

Mira and the others looked completely bewildered.

"Hey~ what exactly did your guild do? Why are they reacting like this?"

Yun Feiyang shrugged, "I reckon we've walked into a den of thieves!"

A blonde youth sitting on the second floor had been keeping an eye on the situation downstairs ever since he heard the name Fairy Tail.

"Newbies? What idiots."

"It's precisely because they recruit so many idiots like this that the guild is looked down upon by others!"
