Background / History

Yun Feiyang spent three years confined in a forest within a sealed barrier, the only human among numerous Demonic Beasts. He survived by fleeing enemies he could not defeat, training relentlessly, and returning for revenge only after becoming stronger. The experience left his body densely scarred and shaped his conviction that strength, resilience, and courage overcome hardship. Makarov eventually brought him out of the forest. 10 36

After awakening Wind Magic and obtaining Wind God Slayer Magic, Yun left his cave with Makarov and entered Magnolia. He joined Fairy Tail, where he quickly established himself as an exceptionally capable rookie through his swordsmanship, battle record, and collection of Demonic Beast furs. 6 7 9

During a royal-capital mission, Yun received the Holy Sword of Honor and learned Sacred Sword Magic under Frank Chad. His immediate mastery of its techniques allowed him to manifest the God of Knights’ form; Frank and Arcadius subsequently became his followers. 66 69 70 71

Yun later helped resolve the royal coup crisis. King Toma granted him the title of Marquis, a manor, and the role of Princess Jade’s guardian knight. Although he refused a permanent palace position, he agreed to visit Jade regularly and returned to Fairy Tail, where Makarov promoted him to S-Class. 83 84

At the sealed barrier’s core, Yun learned that the Wind God had used his own body as a vessel for Yun’s drifting soul, enabling Yun’s rebirth. The former god later transferred his power and soul essence to Yun, making him the new “God” and entrusting him with the protection of the world. 205 207
