The black-haired boy, Gray Fullbuster, was also twelve. He had joined the Guild in 774 AD, making him one of its older members.
He specialized in Ice-Make Magic.
"My name is Gray. It's a pleasure to meet you!"
Looking at Gray's outstretched hand, Feiyang Yun said with utter disdain, "I don't shake hands with perverts!"

Kana reminded him from the side, "Gray, your clothes!"
Gray looked down and froze!

Natsu burst into laughter. "You're amazing! You saw right through Gray's perverted nature at a glance!"

The red-haired girl knocked both of them out with one punch, then walked over!
"My name is Erza. Welcome to Fairy Tail!"
Erza Scarlet was thirteen this year, the same age as Feiyang Yun. She had joined the Guild in 776 AD.
A representative user of Common Magic, she wielded Costume Change Magic. Yet she had forcefully turned this commonplace Magic into Advanced Magic; whether in power or changing speed, she was at a monster-level.
"Hello, my name is Feiyang Yun!"
He still had to shake hands with a beauty's little hand.

He followed Makarov to the bar counter, with the redhead, pinkhead, and pervert following along as well.
Makarov said seriously to Feiyang Yun, "Before you officially join the Guild, there are a few things I must tell you."
"Magic is the result of gathering mental power and concentration, then pouring in all of your soul. If you care about what others think, you cannot advance along the path of Magic. Walk the road you believe in—that is what it means to be a mage of Fairy Tail."
Feiyang Yun nodded!
Got it. The underlying message was: mess around however you wanted, believe in yourself, and everything else was trivial!
"The Guild's sole rule is this: no matter what happens, you must absolutely, absolutely never raise a hand against a partner. Understand?"
Understood, understood. Ordinary brawls didn't count.
For some reason, Feiyang Yun had an overwhelming urge to make sarcastic remarks right then.
"Next are a few rules for leaving the Guild."
"First, information detrimental to Fairy Tail must never be discussed with others for the rest of your life."
"Second, you may not privately contact former clients in order to gain personal benefits from them."
"Third, even if your paths diverge, you must live on strongly. You must never take your own life lightly, and you must never forget the companions you once cherished."
"Can you do everything I've said?"
Feiyang Yun replied loudly, "I can!"
"Very good. From today onward, you are a member of Fairy Tail!"
Everyone applauded in welcome!
"Someone, help him stamp on the Guild Emblem."

Erza volunteered, taking out a stamp.
"This stamp is a Magic Item. Once it's applied, unless you use a special magic potion to wash it away, this emblem will stay with you for the rest of your life."

Erza pulled down her collar to reveal her delicate shoulder. Her Guild Emblem was on the shoulder of her left arm, dark blue in color.

Though her chest was so flat that there was nothing to see, she still needed to mind the impression she made.

Natsu leaned in, showing off the fiery red emblem on his right arm.
"You can copy me if you want!"
Gray's Guild Emblem was on the right side of his chest, also dark blue.
"Have you decided where you want it?"
"I've decided!"
Feiyang Yun pointed at his heart. "Put it here!"
"Does that mean you're keeping the Guild in your heart? What a wonderful meaning!"
"That's so impressive? Damn it, if I'd known, I would've chosen that spot too!"
