Splat! Crackle!
"Need to char it a bit more, otherwise, parasites would be a problem."
Above the burning flames, snake meat cut into segments was evenly skewered on a branch, being roasted by the fire!
Moss slowly turned the branch in her hand, sucking back the tears from the corners of her eyes, and said with slight regret:
"It's a shame there's no salt or cumin here, otherwise, it would be perfect."
Crackle!
The fat sizzled in the flames, continuously releasing an enticing aroma that tempted Moss.
"Gulp... Wait, just a little longer!"
Moss swallowed, her eyes fixed on the snake meat in front of her.
Actually, she wasn't hungry right now; the pile of chopped vegetables earlier was enough to fill her stomach.
But this was meat! Cooked meat!
Since her rebirth, Moss hadn't eaten a single cooked item!
That Flame Marsh Lizard before didn't count; at best, it was just raw meat with some warmth!
Now that she had the ability, she was determined to eat some cooked meat!
"Anyway, I have the Glutton talent, so whatever I eat can be converted into energy and stored. It's fine, it's fine!"
Moss brought the roasted snake skewer close to her face and sniffed it. The aroma of the roasted meat made her smile with satisfaction.
She didn't even care if it was hot and took a big bite!
Delicious! Delicious! Super delicious!
Even though it was meat with no seasoning, why was it so delicious!
Moss narrowed her eyes in contentment, a glint of touching tears flashing in them!
"Mmm~ Mmm mmm mmm..."
Moss chewed the snake meat, her movements getting faster and faster. This skewer, larger than her own body, was rapidly being devoured!
Before long, Moss stared blankly at the branch remaining in her hand, feeling a sense of loss.
"It's all gone..."
Moss sighed, casually tossed the branch aside, and shrugged helplessly with her hands spread open.
"Can't be helped, a snake is only so big. If only there was another snake, but..."
Moss looked down at her incredibly flat stomach. She reached out and touched it, exclaiming in surprise:
"It's already digested? That was too fast!"
The snake meat she had just eaten was completely digested, leaving no residue behind!
Moss felt as if her insides were a furnace, with everything she ate disappearing in an instant!
"This is good, though. I don't have to worry about biological waste!"
"But if it digests this quickly, will poison act faster, or will it be completely digested?"
"If parasites or bacteria enter my body, will I be infected or will my body digest them directly?"
Moss scratched her head, feeling a bit muddled. The key was that these things weren't easy to experiment with!
After struggling with it for a while, Moss couldn't come up with an answer and decided to put it aside for now.
"Forget it... I won't think about it anymore. Time to work!"
Moss stood up, stretched her body, and began her work plan for the day!
Digging!
She had to widen the original entrance a bit, otherwise, even entering and exiting the cave would be inconvenient!
"Ah, I've got a lot to do again!"
Moss murmured to herself, and thinking about her packed schedule, she couldn't help but break into a bright smile.
"Oh my! I'm really looking forward to it! I'll expand the entrance first, and then the inside as well..."
In the blink of an eye, two months passed!
"Aha! Fire Style: Great Fire Annihilation!"
Whoosh! Boom—!
Flames surged as if to swallow everything, and a dazzling light flashed in the dark sewer!
Pat pat pat pat!
Accompanied by the sounds of objects hitting the ground, the dazzling flames also disappeared!
[Congratulations, Awakened One, your level has been increased!]
Tap!
Moss landed lightly, her snow-white fur fluttering as if ablaze, though there was no wind.
The lingering glow of flames illuminated her silhouette, her crimson eyes flashing with the ferocity of a wild beast!
A smile, seemingly delighted and excited, twisted her lips as sparks, not yet extinguished, spewed from her mouth.
She... was like a monster in the flames, brutally killing...
"Huh? Don't make it sound like I'm some kind of villain. Figure out that I'm the one who was attacked first!"
Moss tilted her head, speaking to someone unseen. Her pouting expression was incredibly cute, making her look like a total moe pet!
Of course, Moss wasn't concerned with such things now. She was more focused on these sudden attackers!
A swarm of black spiders!
Their exteriors were as dark as ink, with eyes that glowed red. Each one was about the size of a person's palm and extremely aggressive!
Moss counted the black spiders burned to death on the ground; there were over a hundred!
Looking at the spiders, she murmured gravely, "These spiders are inexplicably similar to those black rats. What could be the reason?"
It wasn't their appearance that was similar, but their behavior: indiscriminately attacking surrounding creatures!
Moreover, these spiders were more ferocious than the black rats, probably because their brains weren't as developed as the rats'.
Based on the information Moss gathered with her Scout ability, their mental attributes were lower than the black rats'.
"Generally, most spiders aren't social creatures. Why are they gathered together now?"
"Has spring arrived? No, that's not right. Where would so many spiders be together!"
You're not allowed to participate...
"Ugh..."
Moss shook her head vigorously, suppressing the strange thoughts in her mind.
"But, thankfully, these spiders are all gathered in the giant vertical shaft to the north and don't come around often, so it's not a problem for now."
Moss didn't dwell on the spiders. Instead, she opened her status panel. Thanks to those spiders, she had leveled up again!
[Name: ???] [Class: Warrior] [Level: Bronze 7] [Constitution: 7] [Spirit: 7] [Class Points: 5] [Talents: Mana Enhancement V -> VII, Mana Release V -> VII, Flame Manipulation V -> VII, Mana Perception V -> VII, Meditation Body Refinement V -> VII, Gluttony III -> V, Scout I -> III...]
Over the past two months, Moss had primarily focused on training her Mana and Flame-related talents. Other talents had barely leveled up.
Even so, at level 7, Moss was currently one of the strongest creatures in the vicinity!
The few factions stronger than her were either numerous or had individuals with greater individual strength!
For instance, the nest of the black spiders that had just attacked her was one of them!
There was also the giant lizard that hibernated in the main sewer to the south, which Moss had almost died fighting before!
To the northwest, there was a terrifyingly large centipede that was incredibly tough, and the area was filled with highly concentrated marsh gas!
Moss's strongest attack method currently was fire. In that environment, dealing with that giant centipede would be suicidal!
Even though that creature was weaker than her, Moss still listed it as a threat!
Finally, there was the most terrifying faction: to the west lay a snake den with thousands of venomous snakes!
Moss couldn't believe how many snakes there were in the sewer!
The first time she encountered them, she was almost scared to death. Fortunately, she managed to escape.
However, apart from these four factions, the creatures in all other areas were no match for Moss!
As for the black rats, Moss hadn't seen them again. She didn't know if they had all died or moved far away.
"I'm back!"
Moss returned to the cave, announcing her arrival as she pounced towards the Little Ball that came to greet her!
Puyo!
"Ahaha, so soft and squishy, it feels so good! I'm so tired..."
