Hearing the two's conversation, Ma Zhaodi immediately felt a sense of awe.
He had long heard that the Falcone family was full of ruthless characters. Today, he realized that hearing about them was not the same as meeting them. Taking on Two-Face first, then Batman – such bold words, he had never dared to utter them even in his dreams. He only dared to quietly criticize Batman in his heart.
"Idiot."
Just then, a cold, mocking voice came from the side.
Ma Zhaodi subconsciously nodded. That's right, that sharp critique was spot on.
Wait, this voice sounds so familiar?
"Who the hell are you calling an idiot? You wanna fight?"
The family member, whose proposal had just been rejected by his companion, was already very unhappy. Hearing someone else's sharp critique now, a surge of anger rose from the bottom of his heart. He widened his eyes, turned his head to the side, trying to find out who was jumping in to attack him when he was already upset. Ma Zhaodi, however, spotted the burly figure who had mocked him a step ahead.
Holy crap, Clinton Banner!
It's that bird-man who took the bus for half a year and then chased after him and Drake, waving his gun around! Did he come to join the Falcone gang?!
Clinton also seemed to recognize Ma Zhaodi and nodded his head at him as a greeting.
When he saw Clinton and the Beretta on his waist, the angry man's voice suddenly quieted down. If Ma Zhaodi guessed correctly, Clinton had probably already made a name for himself in the Falcone family with his marksmanship.
Of course, he might have also blown away the heads of a few mobsters who dared to provoke him.
"Stop arguing," the one who had initially told him he was courting death spoke up, easing the tense atmosphere. "Don't talk about family matters here. If you have that much free time, why not think about how to spend the upcoming Thanksgiving."
"How can I spend Thanksgiving? I don't have a wife."
The topic was gradually sidetracked. Clinton let out a cold laugh and turned to walk away. Ma Zhaodi also lost the mood to stay any longer. Reminded by the interruption, he finally remembered that he still had a mission to complete.
"Blockage is not as good as diversion
Status: Pending (0/1)
Reward: Advanced Culinary Mastery"
Blowing up his house with a bomb felt a bit against his conscience, was extremely risky, and the bounty didn't even count towards his asset points. However, considering that Falcone's bounty was still active, it was possible that some small-time thugs might come along to help Two-Face complete his origin story. Therefore, Ma Zhaodi felt compelled to do this mission.
Moreover, he was the one who burned Falcone's twenty million hidden in the factory. Letting Harvey Dent take the blame made his conscience feel a little uneasy.
So he walked towards Clinton.
"Hey, Clinton," he greeted. "Long time no see."
Clinton turned his head. He still had a sullen expression, no different from when they were on the bus that day or when he helped Ma Zhaodi drive away robbers that night. Strangely, there were a few scratch marks on his bald head, and he didn't know if he had gotten them while seeking revenge on someone.
"Coward, what do you want with me?"
As soon as he spoke, Ma Zhaodi found it hard to hold back a laugh. He should have been angry, but seeing his fierce expression, coupled with his bald head with claw marks, he suddenly felt like laughing.
"My name isn't Coward, it's Ma Zhaodi, thank you."
"No difference, do you need something?"
"Yes, yes, just a little something—do you know the Irish Mob?"
"I was the one driving the getaway car that day. I'll write it all down if you need it."
The thin man with a mustache and a shifty look was "Slippery" Jimmy.
"The package I delivered to that woman, that's Harvey Dent's wife, Mrs. Dent, you know. I'll write it all down if you need it."
The man with an honest face was "Hypocrite" Kevin.
"I followed Dent to his house, yes, I did that, followed him until he got home. If you need it, I'll write it all down, I will."
The bald, fat man with glasses always liked to repeat himself, he was "Duet" Willy.
"I pressed the damn remote control button. And I'll write it all down, if you need it,"
The man with thick eyebrows, dark hair, and a big nose was "Boy" Donny.
"I bought the materials and made the bomb, yes, I did this job—I'll write it all down, buddy, you just want me to say it like this, right?"
The last man with big ears and a long, thin face was "Mink" Mickey.
Five men, five voices, five perfectly consistent testimonies, sounded one after another in the room. Ma Zhaodi, who was hiding and "eavesdropping," couldn't help but get distracted.
"This guy's name is Mickey, and his nickname is Mink. Is that really okay? Won't Disney's legal department have any objections?"
He couldn't help but think of a certain red fumo from a certain game.
Meanwhile, the conversation in the room continued.
"Everything's fine, Mickey?"
"No problem, I've memorized the lines well. If anything goes wrong later, we'll just say it like this."
"Sigh—finally, I can rest. These past few days have been exhausting."
"Exhausting, my ass. You didn't do anything from start to finish—except go out practicing hitting on married women and scamming ordinary girls."
"It's all for the plan, what could I do? You go stake out Harvey Dent's house every night until midnight, and I didn't say anything, did I?"
"You're talking about yourself, aren't you? I just squat outside Harvey's house for a few hours every day, waiting for him to come home. I'm so damn bored—why don't you switch with me?"
"Do you have a gentleman's face like mine?"
"You mean a 'hypocrite's' face, right?"
"Why don't we look at Mickey? Who swapped with him?"
"You can make bombs? Then you go! Mickey must be sick of doing this dangerous work, he'd probably be thrilled to have someone replace him."
"I can learn."
"Go to hell. Last time you said you wanted to replace Jimmy driving the getaway car, you said the exact same thing, and the result was all of us spending a whole six months in the joint."
Ma Zhaodi desperately held back the corners of his mouth. These four birds were too humorous, and he could barely suppress the urge to laugh.
He put away the laptop in his hand, noted the locations of these people, and left on foot. The Irish Mob's usual hideouts were in the East End, so Ma Zhaodi simply walked back and forth. If it weren't for his two vehicles being too conspicuous, driving or using a wheelchair would have been much more convenient.
As for how he managed to eavesdrop.
