As the sect debated his rising status, he learned that Li Yuanzong had attacked Yi Gu and confronted him on Water Heart Island, where the Grand Elder intervened.

• Lin Bai killed Long Ba, learned that Tianshui Sect disciples had been captured or humiliated, and joined Lei Lin on the way to Xuanhuo Island.
• Lin Bai reunited with the surviving Tianshui Sect disciples, then killed Long Xue and a Flood Dragon Clan Dao God after they defeated Lei Lin and Wang Xin.
• Lin Bai fought Ao Hai, Ao Jie, and Ao Qing, killing Ao Jie and Ao Qing before Prince Yan rescued Ao Hai and clashed with Lin Bai and Li Zai'en.

Lin Bai entered the Ancient Wasteland Secret Realm after rescuing Yi Gu, where he clashed with Heaven and Earth Gate disciples and uncovered their plan against the Tianshui Sect. After reaching the realm’s second level, he found a World-Annihilation Tree draining a disciple’s life and became trapped among its regenerating vines.

• Li Zai'en found Yi Gu imprisoned and gravely wounded on Water Heart Island, and the Grand Elder sent Lin Bai to gather herbs in the Ancient Wasteland Secret Realm instead of punishing him.
• Lin Bai learned the Heaven's Will Four Symbols Sword Formation, forged three flying swords at the cost of severe soul damage, and joined Tang Wei's team for the secret realm expedition.
• Li Yuanzong recruited allies to kill Lin Bai, while Mu Huaqing warned Lin Bai about the dangers of rival geniuses as the Tianshui Sect and Heaven and Earth Gate entered the secret realm.
• Tang Wei confronted Heaven and Earth Gate disciples over Four Seasons Spirit Mushrooms, and Lin Bai killed pursuers who revealed that their sect had ordered his death.
• Lin Bai rescued Tang Wei from attackers and illusions, then discovered that the rest of her team had died and learned from Feng Yi that the Heaven and Earth Gate planned to destroy the Tianshui Sect.
• After leaving the injured Tang Wei behind, Lin Bai found a rune formation beneath a river and used it to reach the secret realm's second level.
• Lin Bai discovered a World Tree and watched a Heaven and Earth Gate disciple approach it, while the Heaven Swallowing Dao Fruit revealed its true form as a World-Annihilation Tree.
• Lin Bai fought the World-Annihilation Tree's vines with the Demonic Sword, but the vines regenerated and surrounded him as the Crow identified the tree and warned him of danger.

Lin Bai and the Crow raided the Ancient Longevity Hall, then Lin Bai helped the Tianshui Sect resist the Heaven and Earth Gate. Li Yuanzong betrayed his sect and killed Mu Huaqing, leaving Lin Bai under suspicion as Ma Qiuming plotted to seize the Elixir of Immortality.

• Lin Bai escaped the World-Annihilation Tree with the Crow, signed a karmic debt document, and entered the third secret realm, where they found the Ancient Longevity Hall.
• Lin Bai fought the Heaven and Earth Gate’s Old Daoist over the pill room, then triggered the hall’s self-destruction and escaped with the Crow as the Old Daoist was caught in the blast.
• Lin Bai joined Mu Huaqing and Tang Wei at Wuwei Peak and defeated many Heaven and Earth Gate disciples, including Yu Lianqin’s forces.
• While Lin Bai recovered, Li Yuanzong and his companions attacked him, but Lin Bai killed them and badly wounded Li Yuanzong before Mu Huaqing helped him escape.
• The Old Daoist persuaded Li Yuanzong to join the Heaven and Earth Gate, and Li Yuanzong stabbed Mu Huaqing through the heart before leaving the secret realm with the Old Daoist.
• Lin Bai and Tang Wei found Mu Huaqing’s body, and Lin Bai suspected Li Yuanzong had killed him, though Tang Wei initially rejected the accusation for lack of evidence.
• After the secret realm closed, Li Yuanzong accused Lin Bai of killing Mu Huaqing, and Zheng Yuan ordered Lin Bai to remain on his residence island during the investigation.
• Ma Qiuming concealed the Ancient Longevity Hall’s destruction from the Heaven and Earth Gate Master and planned to seize Lin Bai’s Elixir of Immortality when the secret realm reopened.

Lin Bai entered the Demon Refining Tower with Tang Wei and survived a trap in the Lightless Forest before seeking resources in the Thousand Death Islands. A false summons led them to Sea Beast Island, where an enemy held Senior Brother Wu and his companions captive and forced Wu to cooperate by threatening Lian Mei and her unborn child.

• The Old Daoist revealed that he had arranged Mu Huaqing’s death and framed Lin Bai, while the Heaven and Earth Gate planned to draw the Tianshui Sect into a deadly confrontation.
• Li Yuanzong accused Lin Bai and Tang Wei of killing Mu Huaqing, but Lin Bai told Li Zai'en that Ma Qiuming and Li Yuanzong had conspired against the sect’s disciples.
• Lin Bai and Tang Wei entered the Demon Refining Tower, where someone diverted them to the Lightless Forest and they were attacked by Blood Corpses and a Bronze Corpse.
• Yi Zien rescued Lin Bai and Tang Wei, led them to Demon Refining City, and warned them to be cautious of its inhabitants.
• Lin Bai sought immortal jade and information at Heaven's Grace Pavilion, then took Tang Wei to the Thousand Death Islands to hunt Celestial Jade Puppets.
• Lin Bai killed a Celestial Jade Puppet and drove off two men who attacked Tang Wei, learning that Sea Beast Island held valuable puppets and was difficult to escape.
• Senior Brother Wu directed Lin Bai and Tang Wei to Withered Leaf Island, where they found Sea Beast Island atop an enormous Ao Tortoise.
