Combat Evaluation — “One Kakashi”
| Assessment | Result | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Yuhara’s Three-Tomoe Sharingan benchmark | 80 total / 900 standard combat power | Ninjutsu 10; Taijutsu 9; Genjutsu 8; Strength 7; Speed 9; Hand Seals 10; Stamina 6; Intelligence 10; Burst 6; Mystic 5. Yuhara uses this profile as the “one Kakashi” baseline for assessing ninja strength. 6 |
| Tigo’s regular estimate | 750 | Tigo labels this Kakashi’s “regular” combat power. Kakashi infers that the estimate excludes at least his Mangekyō Sharingan. 133 |
Personality
Kakashi is reserved, self-effacing, and uncomfortable with praise he believes he has not earned. After Konoha publicly credits him with killing the Fourth Kazekage, he avoids celebrations and public attention rather than accept a reputation he considers exaggerated. He likewise rejects comparisons to Minato, insisting that he is not arrogant enough to measure himself against his teacher. 92 201
Loss and guilt weigh heavily on him. He is initially depicted as gloomy after losing a teammate and anticipating Minato’s death, later questioning whether he may have leaked intelligence during the Nine-Tails incident. The sustained burden of his Sharingan and unresolved grief leave him prone to letting himself drift rather than seeking help. 15 114 116
Despite this, Kakashi remains resilient, practical, and willing to take extreme risks when a mission demands it. He can be laid-back outside combat, trades dry barbs with Might Guy and Yuhara, and increasingly shows initiative as a leader, teacher, and technical collaborator. 92 163 164 216
Abilities & Skills
Three-Tomoe Sharingan
Kakashi’s transplanted Sharingan gives him exceptional visual perception and is central to his identity as the Copy Ninja.
- Mastered all five elemental chakra natures while using the Sharingan, an achievement tied to his Copy Ninja title. 56 170
- Has copied more than a thousand ninjutsu, making his techniques a major resource for the Ninja Library. 168 170
- Can read opponents’ movements precisely enough to protect Tenzo from multiple attacking Sand ninja at once. 86
- His eye remains permanently active in its three-tomoe state, causing continuous chakra leakage. 116
- As a non-Uchiha user, the Sharingan imposes a severe chakra burden and cannot be controlled as naturally as an original eye. 56 199
Mangekyō Sharingan and Kamui
Kakashi awakens the Mangekyō Sharingan after concentrating chakra into his eye during a painful experiment supported by Tenzo’s Wood Release chakra. 116 117
- Kamui — A space-time technique capable of inflicting catastrophic localized damage; Kakashi uses it to decapitate Orochimaru, though Orochimaru survives through body replacement. 199
- Uses his Mangekyō’s spatial ability to escape Orochimaru’s Binding Curse Technique and evade Kakuzu’s killing blow. 201 202
- Its activation speed and physical cost are major limitations; a forced rapid use supported by Wood Release chakra leaves him in extreme pain and near chakra exhaustion. 199
- Kamui’s accuracy is imperfect, as an attempt against the Seven-Tails only wounds rather than decisively strikes it. 190
- Kushina’s eye seal regulates chakra supply, incorporates stored Tenzo chakra, and includes an anti-theft self-destruct function. 117 118
- A later cursed-seal enhancement allows Tenzo’s chakra to offset the Sharingan’s normal burden almost completely. 234
Flying Thunder God Technique
Kakashi develops an innovative application of the Flying Thunder God Technique as a less hazardous alternative to repeated Mangekyō use. 213 214
- Escapes Yuhara’s Mercury Lamp by reading spatial coordinates and jumping to a marked kunai. 213
- Surprises Yuhara with the technique during their tournament match, forcing Yuhara to surrender. 214
- Uses the technique to win the event’s final against Shibi Aburame, impressing the Third Hokage and other observers. 214
Elemental Ninjutsu
Kakashi possesses all five chakra nature transformations and combines them with his visual prowess and copying ability. 56 170
- Teaches Yuhara a Fire Release technique, which Yuhara successfully performs on his first attempt. 153
- Counters Orochimaru’s giant snake summon with an enormous Fire Release technique. 200
- Teaches Earth Release to Yuhara and Tenzo for their underground construction project. 164
- Helps Yuhara learn Water Release chakra nature transformation while transcribing techniques into the Library. 170
Cursed Seal: Explosive Tag Multiplication
Also called Mutual Multiplication Explosive Tag, this forbidden technique creates a sustained, high-yield chain explosion. 86 88
- Delivers the decisive explosive assault during the operation against the Fourth Kazekage. 87 92
- Kakashi masters the technique in a remarkably short time, demonstrating exceptional talent with forbidden ninjutsu. 88
- The technique is financially extravagant: its explosive tags alone cost an estimated sixty to seventy million ryō. 87
- Its power and indiscriminate danger require Yuhara to rescue Kakashi from his own blast. 86
Taijutsu and Combat Adaptation
Kakashi combines speed, close-quarters skill, explosive tags, Fire Release, and space-time techniques rather than relying on a single approach.
- His “one Kakashi” profile rates his Taijutsu at 9 and Speed at 9. 6
- Challenges Yuhara in a serious tournament bout to measure his own strength, using taijutsu and spatial techniques in tandem. 212
- Fights beside Yuhara against the Seven-Tails, though their combined assault is insufficient to defeat the Tailed Beast without the Third Hokage and sealing squads. 190
Seals & Equipment
- Sharingan sealing system — Kushina’s multi-module eye seal controls chakra flow, stores auxiliary chakra, and prevents the eye from being taken intact. 117 118
- Chakra blades — Receives a custom short chakra blade from Yuhara and Tenzo for Crimson Crown use. 108
- Custom chest plate — A one-size chest plate adjusts itself to fit Kakashi’s body. 108
- Explosive tags — Used as the medium for his multiplication technique. 86 87
- Tigo communication device — Wears a metal receiver on his forehead-protector strap for long-distance communication with Tigo’s network. 133
Relationships
- Yuhara — Teammate, sparring partner, and frequent source of irritation. They cooperate on missions against Sunagakure, the Seven-Tails, and Akatsuki, while Yuhara also helps Kakashi address his Sharingan’s burden. 86 116 190 202
- Tenzo — Close mission partner and technical collaborator. Tenzo’s Wood Release chakra is repeatedly used to support Kakashi’s Mangekyō and sealing systems. 86 117 153
- Minato Namikaze — His late teacher and the Fourth Hokage. Kakashi feels crushed by public comparisons to Minato after receiving credit for the Fourth Kazekage’s death. 15 92 201
- Kushina Uzumaki — Treats Kakashi like one of Minato’s own children; she investigates, seals, and protects his Sharingan. 114 116 118
- Might Guy — Kakashi’s closest surviving friend after the deaths of his teammates. Guy supports him through his unwanted fame and remains an enthusiastic rival. 92 216
- The Third Hokage — Receives Kakashi’s concise mission reports and recognizes his accomplishments through Konoha’s medal system. 114 163
- Orochimaru — A dangerous opponent who becomes intensely interested in Kakashi’s Mangekyō Sharingan after their confrontation. 198 202
Story Role / Major Arcs
Early Reputation and the Sunagakure Operation
Yuhara initially recognizes Kakashi as the widely known Copy Ninja but does not approach him at Konoha’s gates. At this point, Kakashi is visibly burdened by the loss of a teammate and his unstable emotional state. 15
Kakashi later joins Yuhara and Tenzo’s mission to Sunagakure by Hokage order. He protects Tenzo during the assault on the Kazekage’s office, then employs Cursed Seal: Explosive Tag Multiplication against the Fourth Kazekage. 82 86 87
Although Yuhara and Tenzo share responsibility for the operation, Yuhara urges the Third Hokage to award Kakashi the main credit. Konoha turns him into the public face of the victory and promotes him as a successor to Minato’s legacy, a role Kakashi deeply resents. 88 92
Sharingan Rehabilitation and Mangekyō Awakening
After the war, Kakashi receives medals for his service, including a Konoha Hero Medal for Kannabi Bridge and an honorary Council medal recognizing his potential. 114
Yuhara and Kushina identify that Kakashi’s permanently active Sharingan is draining his chakra continuously. Their attempt to improve its chakra “bandwidth” triggers an agonizing release that awakens his Mangekyō Sharingan. 116 117
Kushina subsequently seals the eye with specialized functions to regulate its use and protect it from theft. Kakashi spends a week hospitalized recovering from the process. 118
Reconstruction and Crimson Crown
Kakashi undertakes missions involving the Three-Tails, including retrieving it from Nameless Mountain and reporting the strange circumstances of its return toward Kirigakure. 153 163
He helps Yuhara and Tenzo build a concealed underground network beneath Konoha, using Earth Release to excavate tunnels and install chakra-conduction pipelines. He also contributes copied ninjutsu to the developing Library and trains Yuhara in elemental transformation. 164 170
Tailed Beast Crisis and Tournament Victory
Kakashi and Yuhara fight the manifested Seven-Tails together, weakening it before the Third Hokage and sealing squads arrive to complete the suppression. 190
During Crimson Crown’s competitive event, Kakashi insists on testing himself against Yuhara. He evades Mercury Lamp with Flying Thunder God, defeats Yuhara through innovation rather than direct force, and ultimately wins the final against Shibi Aburame. 212 214
Clash with Orochimaru and Kakuzu
While confronting Akatsuki members Orochimaru and Kakuzu, Kakashi uses Kamui to decapitate Orochimaru, survives a Binding Curse Technique, and evades Kakuzu through his Mangekyō’s spatial power. 198 199 201 202
He continues fighting despite a pierced shoulder and severe chakra depletion, countering Orochimaru’s giant serpent with a massive Fire Release technique. Orochimaru acknowledges that he underestimated Kakashi’s growth. 200 201
Later Service
Kakashi later volunteers as a test subject for Yuhara’s encapsulation jutsu, enduring extreme pain but surviving the experiment. 270
During a later period of hospitalization and declining mental health, Sasuke Uchiha visits him. Kakashi’s struggles are tied to grief over his father and uncertainty over his place in Konoha, though the city’s gradual recovery helps improve his outlook. 271
