The Great Sweep

Wong Chi-shing didn't delay either. Ever since he received Wang Xuan's intelligence, he began making arrangements. Last night, he launched a surprise raid on several transaction points, seizing over 600 grams of various drugs. For a time, the Viper's side was in a state of panic, with every shadow seeming like an enemy.

The continuously unlucky Viper was sulking in his room when his phone suddenly rang, startling him. He impatiently answered, only to hear a hurried voice on the other end, "Boss, the cops are going crazy for some reason. Many of our spots have been raided, what should we do?"

The Viper's head buzzed. He instinctively thought someone had ratted him out and his hand immediately reached under the table. There was the handgun he had hidden for emergencies.

Grabbing the handgun, he felt a slight sense of relief. Then, upon further thought, he realized something was off. They said "assist in the investigation" and there was no arrest warrant, meaning the police didn't have concrete evidence.

Phew!

He secretly let out a sigh of relief. Fortunately, he didn't impulsively draw his weapon, otherwise, it would have been walking right into a trap!

His subconscious action had aroused suspicion among the officers. One of them quietly placed his hand on his gun holster, ready to draw his weapon at any moment.

The Viper slowly raised his hands, indicating he was unarmed. He didn't dare to argue at this point, lest he arouse further suspicion. He could only accompany the officers to the police station.

As for the raided spots, he could only wait.

As soon as he was taken away by the police car, his subordinates who had been ambushing nearby notified Wang Xuan. With a command, over thirty vans quickly filled with men, and with a press of the accelerator, they sped towards the border of Kowloon and Mong Kok.

Ah Wai stayed to guard the house, while Ah Ying, Ah Wai, Ah Sen, and Wang Xuan each led a team, heading in four directions towards their pre-selected targets.

These targets were the very spots that had just been raided by the police and were currently in a state of chaos. Suddenly, a group of people rushed in from the vans, attacking anyone they saw. The Viper's subordinates, caught off guard and in disarray, were no match for these well-prepared attackers.

Furthermore, without a leader on site, these subordinates were like a scattered pile of sand. In a matter of moments, they were hacked and scattered, with one spot after another being cleared out.

This time, Wang Xuan wasn't greedy. He knew his limits. His target was the three streets near Portland Street. While capturing them was easy, the challenge would be whether he could hold onto them after the Viper was released.

After all, his rise was too recent, and he didn't have many capable fighters under him.

The reason he personally led the team was to deal with several key targets: the Viper's important subordinates. Taking them down would be equivalent to severing one of the Viper's arms.

Wang Xuan had two main targets: one named Sha Kun, a Thai who practiced Muay Thai, known for his ferocity and a history of multiple killings. The other was Li Sheng, nicknamed Steel Bar, who was equally ruthless and a "Red Pole" of the Hong Yi Society.

As for Ah Ying and the other two, their targets were several minor leaders. Wang Xuan's orders were to leave no survivors, to tie them up and sink them into the sea.

This way, even if the Viper were released, without these key figures, organizing a force to reclaim the spots would be a troublesome matter.

With thorough preparations this time, he finally didn't have to get his own hands dirty. Looking at Sha Kun before him, Wang Xuan leisurely lit a cigarette, took a puff, and with a slight wave of his right hand, over a dozen subordinates wielding long staffs charged forward.

With two targets easily taken down, he didn't bother with Ah Ying and the others and directly ordered the car to drive towards a secluded shore.

After having his subordinates spread out to ensure no one was around, Wang Xuan didn't get out of the car. "No, no, everything is up to you, boss. If you tell me to go east, I won't go west. If you tell me to catch a dog, I wouldn't dare chase a chicken!"

Ah Ying grinned sheepishly, trying to find an excuse. Wang Xuan, however, remained unmoved. He looked at the three of them, plus Ah Wai who remained silent, and a smile of unknown meaning played on his lips. "You're that obedient? Really?"

"Of course, it's true!" Ah Ying immediately swore an oath.

"And you guys?" He glanced at the other three, Wang Xuan chuckled.

Ah Wai clearly sensed something was wrong, but the situation was beyond his control. It wasn't appropriate to say anything else at this point, so he could only follow suit with an oath.

"Heh, that's good then!" Wang Xuan tapped the table lightly with his finger. "I've always felt that mere fighting and killing isn't sustainable; it either leads to an early death or a stint in prison. So, in the future, I will try to legitimize everything, and all our businesses will be regulated. As my trusted subordinates, you naturally can't lag behind, right?"

"Of course, we wouldn't dare to lag behind, boss!"

"What!" The four exchanged bewildered glances. Find teachers to attend classes? If they could study properly, why would they be gangsters now? All four of them found books to be a headache.
