• Tang Sanzang revealed that the two kings had conspired to cause the drought and use the people’s resentment to become an evil dragon, and the Well Dragon King confirmed their scheme.
• The kings activated the Octagonal Glazed Well’s formation, but Tang Sanzang and the Preaching Squad transformed the evil dragon into a black chicken and named it Crow-Cock Kingdom’s divine guardian bird.
• Sun Wukong gave the whole squad a top-tier rating, and Zhou Qingqing warned him she would give him an All trash rating if he fell short next time.
• A child claiming to be Taishang’s son joined the Preaching Squad, but Sun Wukong realized the child and Withered Pine Ravine had trapped the group in an illusion.

The Preaching Squad crossed the Blackwater River and reached Chechi Kingdom, where they uncovered the warped Three Pure Ones Temple and challenged the royal preceptors. After the royal preceptors took the dispute before the king, the Squad entered a series of contests and found signs that the challenges were being manipulated.

• Little White Dragon exposed the Crocodile Dragon for driving out the Blackwater River God, then brought his cousin to face punishment and helped the Squad cross the river.
• The Water Women dragged the Squad underwater, but the Squad’s strength overwhelmed the trial and Amitabha Buddha said they would settle matters at Chechi Kingdom.
• The Squad found monks forced into labor under the three royal preceptors and stayed at the Three Pure Ones Temple, where the sacred statues attacked them.
• Tang Sanzang and Sun Wukong uncovered how the statues’ arrangement and incense offerings sustained their corrupted forms, then the Squad restored the statues’ proper order and Dao Resonance.
• Tiger Strength Immortal, Deer Strength Immortal, and Goat Strength Immortal accused the Squad of desecrating the temple, but Tang Sanzang challenged their authority before the king and secured a three-contest wager.

After the kingdom was renamed Chejing, the squad reached the Heaven-Reaching River, where Sha Wujin began a perilous effort to break Tongtian’s sword intent.

• Sun Wukong reforged his Fiery Eyes and Golden Pupils, revealed the karmic chains linking the Vermilion Lacquer Cabinet to the three preceptors and imprisoned monks, and forced the king to void the rigged contest results.
• Tang Sanzang accepted a life-and-death wager, and Little White Dragon defeated Goat Strength Immortal by transforming the Taotie Cauldron’s power into Dragon Son Power.
• Zhu Bajie comprehended Eight-Realm Illusion Slayer and used it to destroy Deer Strength Immortal’s obsession and Dao foundation.
• Tang Sanzang used his Law Coffin to defeat Tiger Strength Immortal, then buried all three brothers, after which Chaos began consuming Chechi Kingdom.

They left Mount Niushou as Amitabha Buddha prepared the Kingdom of Women trial and Ruyi True Immortal destroyed the Fetus-Dropping Spring.

• Sha Wujin led the Preaching Squad through the Heaven-Reaching River after recognizing the Turtle Spirit Holy Mother’s role, and they crossed safely aboard her frozen shell.
• Amitabha Buddha created the Immortal Lord of Myriad Laws, who trapped the Preaching Squad in Jindou Cave and took their spiritual treasures and system weapons.
• The Immortal Lord of Myriad Laws suppressed the squad with his command of the laws, but Zhu Bajie discovered that they needed to return to their Supreme Purity lineage rather than seek higher ranks.
