Little Jiu defeated the gods and Tang San’s forces as the war for Spirit City escalated, while Xiao Wu turned against Tang San after Aunt Rou’s death. The volume ended with Bibi Dong suppressing the Seven Deadly Sins corrupting Little Jiu, as his companions tried to draw closer to him.

Arc 17The Sea God’s Fall

Little Jiu defeated the Sea God and returned to the mainland, where he rescued Huo Wu and Zhu Zhuqing, toppled Dai Mubai, and fought Tang San. After Xiao Wu sacrificed herself for Zhu Zhuqing, Little Jiu spared Tang San but killed Tailong, while Tang San left with Tang Chen to seek the power to revive Xiao Wu.

  • Little Jiu used his soul-devouring abilities and the Sea God’s Trident to defeat the Sea God’s incarnations, destroy his vessel, and drive Sea God Island’s soul masters to pledge allegiance to him.
  • The Sea God attacked Sea God Island with a giant hand, but Little Jiu severed it with the Evil Ring God-Devouring Ant and survived by escaping through his Heavenly Wood Divine Trees.
  • Little Jiu returned to the mainland and stopped Ma Hong Jun and Xue Beng from forcing Huo Wu into marriage, helping Huo Wu gain a new Martial Soul and defeat Ma Hong Jun.

Arc 18Gods, War, and Betrayal

Little Jiu took control of Clear Sky Sect, defeated the descending gods, and returned to Spirit Hall as war with Tang San’s alliance erupted. After Bibi Dong confronted Yu Xiaogang and repelled the allied forces, she betrayed Little Jiu, whose recovery left him with no memory of the month he spent with Hu Liena.

  • Tang Chen destroyed most of Clear Sky Sect, named Little Jiu its Sect Master, and died after resisting the Asura God, who possessed him through the Dark Gold Bat Emperor.
  • Little Jiu defeated the Sea God and Dark Gold Bat Emperor, gained his eighth Spirit Ability, and drove the Asura God back through the God Realm passage.
  • Little Jiu expelled Tang Hao and his family from Clear Sky Sect and hurried to stop the Rakshasa God from breaking Bibi Dong during her divine trial.

Arc 19The Mortal War Begins

Little Jiu defeated the gods who invaded the mortal world, while Bibi Dong raised the Spirit Hall Empire and strengthened their allies. As Tang San’s forces marched on Spirit City, Xiao Wu was caught between him and her family, and Ah Rou’s death ended with Xiao Wu rejecting Tang San.

  • Little Jiu and Bibi Dong defeated the invading gods, with the Angel God betraying the Asura God and Little Jiu sealing the surviving gods who had crossed into the mortal world.
  • Little Jiu resurrected Xiao Wu and Da Ming, while Ah Rou and Da Ming left to unite the Star Dou Great Forest’s Spirit Beasts against Tang San.

Arc 20The Fall of Tang San

Xiao Wu turned against Tang San after Aunt Rou died and chose Little Jiu, while Tang San surrendered himself to the gods and returned to wage war on Spirit City. Little Jiu defeated the gods and killed Tang San’s allies, but the Seven Deadly Sins corrupted his desires, leaving Bibi Dong to suppress them as his companions tried to draw close to him.

  • Xiao Wu blamed Tang San for Aunt Rou’s death, accepted Little Jiu’s care, and stabbed Tang San with the Rakshasa Demon Scythe after Aunt Rou died.
  • The gods stopped Xiao Wu from killing Tang San, stripped him of his divine positions, and forced him to sign a contract giving the God of Destruction control over him.
  • Tang San agreed to serve the God of Arrogance in exchange for power, then attacked Spirit City and was repeatedly repelled by its Blood Sucking Divine Vines.
