Buzzz...
A strange buzzing sound rose.
It resembled the droning of mosquitoes and flies, yet also the cries of some swarm of insects. The not-so-large cave had already been dyed an inky black.
A closer look would reveal that this so-called inky blackness was actually Ink Black Spider Silk that had filled the entire cave.
Dense, countless black threads crisscrossed one another. Centered on Chu Mu, they had formed an enormous inky-black cocoon within the small cave, wrapping him up tightly.
The tiny, nearly imperceptible Thread-drawing Gu was slowly drawing closer to Chu Mu's glabella under the guidance of his Divine Sense.
As time passed, the crisscrossing black threads grew ever more numerous, and the inky-black hue in the cave became increasingly dense.
When the Thread-drawing Gu touched Chu Mu's glabella, the tangible and intangible merged without the slightest obstruction. The tiny, barely visible Thread-drawing Gu sank into his glabella as naturally as milk blending with water, appearing in the Sea of Consciousness in the blink of an eye.
The Divine Soul Giant Blade still lay across the Sea of Consciousness, suppressing this realm as though it had stood there since time immemorial.
Yet compared to the boundless, calm Sea of Consciousness of the past, his current Sea of Consciousness—or rather, ever since his life-and-death encounter with that True Demon years ago—had never regained its tranquility.
If one had to draw a comparison, his former Sea of Consciousness had been like a peaceful world, its space stable and its spiritual energy normal.
His current Sea of Consciousness, however, resembled the aftermath of a battle between great powers.
Space was shattered, spiritual energy was in chaos, and the earth had split apart.
The description might have been exaggerated, but the truth was not far from it.
