Ch. 182Cone

Jing Yang discussed his lack of remorse over deaths caused while controlling people, and Kurapika and Shizuku agreed on the limits of killing. They examined the Phantom Troupe’s interest in Claude’s treasure map and discovered that Divine Characters on the Buddha statue enhanced Kurapika’s vision; Jing Yang planned to investigate the upcoming wedding.

  • Jing Yang ordered Brat to remove the Star Mark and die, leaving Claude as his remaining mafia-side pawn to mail the treasure map.
  • Jing Yang told Kurapika and Shizuku about the mafia meeting, the treasure map, the Buddha statue, and the two Phantom Troupe members, then questioned his lack of guilt over killing.
  • Kurapika said he disliked killing but would not condemn his companions, while Jing Yang told Shizuku to avoid killing casually and prioritize her own safety.
  • Kurapika and Jing Yang reasoned that the Phantom Troupe might pursue Claude’s treasure map and discussed whether the Buddha statue connected to a special dimension containing the treasure.
  • Jing Yang drew Divine Characters on Kurapika’s arm, and Kurapika found that they enhanced his vision enough to see aura and details with extraordinary clarity.
  • Jing Yang called the enhanced vision Cone and said they would await Claude’s delivery and prepare to investigate the wedding for the Phantom Troupe.

Ch. 183Everyone, Come at Me

Jing Yang trained his sprinting speed and used a Hunter License signal to lure attackers, then controlled their strongest survivor to retrieve a package from the neighboring city. He joined Kurapika and Shizuku to meet Simaco and Melody, marked one Scarlet Eye with a Star Mark, and persuaded Simaco to exchange his wedding gift pair for Kurapika’s pair.

  • Jing Yang trained with Shizuku, improving his thousand-meter sprint to under nineteen seconds after concentrating Aura in his legs and refining his technique.
  • Jing Yang and Shizuku used the Hunter License signal to lure attackers, and Shizuku badly injured their strongest fighter with her Nen chainsaw.
  • Jing Yang marked the injured fighter with a Star Mark, healed him, and possessed him so he would travel to the neighboring city and retrieve the package at the Eternal Library.
  • Jing Yang, Shizuku, and Kurapika met Simaco and Melody, and Jing Yang secretly placed a tiny Star Mark on one of Kurapika’s Scarlet Eyes.
  • Jing Yang asked Simaco to exchange the Scarlet Eyes intended as his wedding gift for Kurapika’s pair, and Simaco reluctantly agreed.

Ch. 184What the Hell Do You Know

After investigating Claude’s apparent suicide, Lieh Ying suspected an unknown Manipulator was forcing controlled people to die, while Jing Yang revealed he had possessed Claude before his death. At a wedding, Jing Yang, Shizuku, and Kurapika tracked the Scarlet Eyes to a villa, where they found a bodyguard guarding the room they needed to enter.

  • Claude slit his throat and then stabbed the Rose Gold Five-Pointed Star in his palm before he died.
  • Lieh Ying inspected Claude’s body, disguised himself as Shalnark, and concluded that a hidden Manipulator had controlled the Shadow Beasts and Ten Dons, whose deaths helped erase the ability’s traces.
  • In a speeding limousine, Jing Yang told Shizuku that he had possessed Claude to investigate, then arrived at the wedding with Shizuku, Kurapika, Melody, and Simaco.
  • Jing Yang and Shizuku mingled at the wedding, met Ousu, and left as the ceremony began after Jing Yang sensed the Scarlet Eyes moving.
  • Jing Yang, Shizuku, and Kurapika followed the Scarlet Eyes to a villa, where Jing Yang found a bodyguard outside the room holding them.

Ch. 185Chainsaw

Jing Yang and Shizuku found more Scarlet Eyes among the wedding gifts, but Lieh Ying ambushed them in Shalnark’s form before transforming into Uvogin. Kurapika was caught in an explosive attack outside the villa, while Shizuku’s chainsaws cut into Lieh Ying’s transformed body.

  • Jing Yang and Shizuku entered the gift room and used Blobfish to locate Scarlet Eyes among the presents.
  • At the wedding, Bop told Ousu that two people had followed the gifts to steal something, and Ousu questioned who she was.
  • Shizuku found at least two more pairs of Scarlet Eyes and decided to take all the gifts containing them.
  • Lieh Ying attacked Jing Yang and Shizuku using Shalnark’s appearance, but Jing Yang struck him and Lieh Ying transformed into Uvogin.
  • Kurapika detected explosive Aura bubbles approaching him, warned Jing Yang that the explosive Phantom Troupe member was nearby, and was engulfed by explosions.
  • Shizuku wrapped Lieh Ying’s arm in Aura chainsaws, cut through his skin, and ordered Blobfish to suck out his blood.

Ch. 186King of Comedy

A wedding explosion threw the garden into chaos while Jing Yang, Shizuku, and Kurapika fought Phantom Troupe members Lieh Ying and Bop. After their separate battles converged, Jing Yang summoned an eight-armed shadow and proposed a team fight.

  • Shizuku used her vacuum cleaner to drain blood from Lieh Ying, disguised as Uvogin, while Jing Yang concealed a charged Nen attack and blasted him through the villa walls.
  • Kurapika survived Bop’s explosion, healed himself with Redemption, and analyzed her invisible, explosive bubbles as they fought.
  • Kurapika destroyed Bop’s incoming bubbles with a Nen construct, then confirmed she was a Phantom Troupe member after Shizuku attacked her with Nen Chain Saws.
  • Lieh Ying recovered from Jing Yang’s attack and pursued him, overpowering his defenses and sending him crashing out of the villa.
  • Jing Yang regrouped with Shizuku while Kurapika faced Bop, then revealed an eight-armed shadow behind himself and called for a team battle.

Ch. 187Run Now!

Jing Yang, Shizuku, and Kurapika fought Lieh Ying, disguised as Uvogin, and Bop, while Kurapika used Abyss to draw Lieh Ying into the book with him. Bop then detonated bubbles she had planted near the wedding garden, forcing Jing Yang to react as the explosions began.

  • Jing Yang summoned Reflection, and Kurapika revealed that he had discarded the Star Mark to impose a lethal restriction on his Abyss ability against Phantom Troupe members.
  • Shizuku attacked Bop with Nen Chain Saws while Jing Yang engaged Lieh Ying and Kurapika tried to wound Bop with his flaming Skull Knight aura.
  • Shizuku released Lieh Ying's blood from Blobfish, and Reflection swallowed it before draining some of Lieh Ying's Nen aura.
  • Shizuku splashed Lieh Ying's blood onto Kurapika's Abyss book, and Kurapika and Lieh Ying vanished into its pages as Lieh Ying began changing into Machi.
  • Bop killed a bodyguard and revealed that she had planted explosive bubbles near the wedding garden, then detonated them as Jing Yang prepared to flee.

Ch. 188Jing Di Doubles

Jing Yang returned to help Shizuku fight Bop, using Shizuku’s body through his Reflection while trying to mark Bop with his ability. The chapter ended with Jing Yang starting a game against Bop and Lieh Ying awakening, chained in a canyon above a ruined village with the blond boy nearby.

  • Jing Yang fled the explosions in the wedding garden, absorbed two streams of Death Qi, and projected his consciousness into Shizuku through the Star Mark.
  • Shizuku evaded Bop’s bubbles with Jing Di’s help, then fought Bop at close range while Jing Yang tried to mark her with his blood.
  • Bop recognized Jing Yang’s manipulation and guarded against being touched, while Jing Yang returned to attack her directly and was knocked back by her aura.
  • Jing Yang challenged Bop to play a game and revealed a Nen ball marked with the number 100.
  • Lieh Ying awoke chained in Zetsu in a wind-swept canyon, then saw the blond boy sitting beside a heap of charred tents in a ruined village.

Ch. 189Betting It All on This Ball

Jing Yang and Shizuku defeated Bop by combining the doubling Flower Payment Nen Ball with Reflection and Shizuku’s blood-sucking Nen beast. In the Abyss, Kurapika questioned the captured Lieh Ying about why he had only transformed into Uvogin during the battle.

  • Bop figured out that the Flower Payment Nen Ball doubled in power each round, caught it, and threw it back at Jing Yang with 1600 aura.
  • Jing Yang used Reflection to survive the throw, while Shizuku bound Bop and was badly injured in the blast of the 3200 Nen Ball.
  • Bop’s blood was drawn toward Shizuku, who absorbed it with Blobfish Vacuum, while the black Nen beast drained Bop’s aura.
  • Jing Yang launched the 6400 Nen Ball at Bop, and the black Nen beast swallowed her amid the explosion.
  • Kurapika bound Lieh Ying in the Abyss, used his Judgment ability to demand answers, and asked why Lieh Ying had only transformed into Uvogin.

Ch. 190This Is Your Leg, This Is Your Hand

Kurapika, Jing Yang, and Shizuku defeated two Phantom Troupe members at the wedding manor and escaped with severe injuries healing through Star Marks. As they drove away, Jing Yang sensed that an unknown person was following the delivery man he had marked.

  • Kurapika's Judgment chain killed Lieh Ying after he refused to reveal the Phantom Troupe's whereabouts, and Kurapika left the Abyss exhausted.
  • Kurapika returned to find Jing Yang and Shizuku had killed Bop; they reattached their severed limbs while Jing Yang's Nen beast restored his aura.
  • Kurapika stored Bop's corpse in the Abyss, and Jing Yang suggested he wanted his resurrected clansmen to see the spiders' fate.
  • The group escaped the manor, and Jing Yang used Rock Sparrow to heal Ousu before rejoining Kurapika and Shizuku in a stolen car.
  • Jing Yang told Kurapika about Death Qi and the danger of his body growing uncontrollably, then sensed someone following an unknown delivery man.

Ch. 191What a Sin!

Jing Yang evaded five pursuers who wanted the envelope, then arranged for an owl to deliver it to Kurapika. After Kurapika returned the envelope, he questioned Jing Yang about attending the mafia wedding despite the danger and the Death Qi in his heart.

  • Jing Yang noticed five unusually powerful people following him after he left the Eternal Library with the envelope.
  • Jing Yang used a tabby cat and an owl to take the envelope away while the five pursuers captured the tool and searched the pet shop.
  • Jing Yang concluded the pursuers might be connected to Kakin and sent the envelope by owl to Kurapika.
  • Kurapika stored the Scarlet Eyes in his Resurrection book and took the envelope back to Jing Yang's apartment.
  • Jing Yang opened the valuable gifts and appointed Kurapika the Akatsuki's chief financial steward.
  • Kurapika asked whether Jing Yang intended to attend the wedding to absorb more Death Qi and mature his body.

Ch. 192Where the Fuck Is This?

Jing Yang, Shizuku, and Kurapika used Divine Characters to reveal hidden locations on True Martial King's treasure map and set out to investigate one, where they discovered runes concealed on a rock wall. Jing Yang then woke alone on an unfamiliar shore, with no idea where he was.

  • Pariston bought a fishing boat and set out to sea, confident that luck would take him where he wanted to go.
  • Kurapika challenged Jing Yang's willingness to risk absorbing Death Qi, and Jing Yang admitted he had a final plan to resolve the problem in his heart.
  • Shizuku revealed that they were seeking Nitoromi, and Jing Yang and Kurapika used jade pendants to copy Divine Characters and reveal points on the treasure map.
  • The trio traveled to the nearest point of light and, using the map's zooming ability, saw black runes appear on a rock wall in an otherwise empty mountain hollow.
  • Jing Yang woke face-down on a shore beside a vast sea and wondered where he had ended up.

Ch. 193Impossible to Shake Off

Jing Yang and his companions were transported by a Divine Script formation to a mist-covered island, where they searched for one another and encountered a skilled woman in a soldier’s uniform. After she attacked him, Jing Yang defeated her and knocked her unconscious, suspecting she had been sent by a Kakin prince.

  • Jing Yang learned through the Moon Marks that Shizuku and Kurapika had also been transported to the strange island, and Kurapika revealed he had arranged for Rock Sparrow to provide a daily escape route.
  • Jing Yang and Shizuku coordinated their directions and began walking around the island’s mist-shrouded coastline to meet up.
  • Jing Yang and Shizuku sensed unsettling whispers in the mist and suspected it was created by Nen, possibly connected to Old Wei.
  • Jing Yang encountered a woman who pretended not to know how she had arrived, then shot at him and attacked with Nen.
  • Jing Yang recognized that the woman was a Manipulator, defeated her, suspected she was a soldier sent by a Kakin prince, and knocked her unconscious.

Ch. 194Kite

Jing Yang reunited with Shizuku and Kurapika through their Moon Marks while investigating the hidden islands and met Kite on the shore. They discovered the fog concealed a chain of ring-shaped islands and that escaping the island required making and keeping an oath, though Jing Yang suspected the mist could drive oath-breakers mad.

  • Jing Yang restrained the unconscious woman and learned from Shizuku that their routes around the island were curving in unexpected directions.
  • Jing Yang met Kite, who directed him onto a raft; as it moved away, the shore vanished into the fog, revealing that the sea and coastline were illusions.
  • Jing Yang used the Divine Characters to see through the fog and discovered multiple ring-shaped islands, then shared the discovery with Shizuku and Kurapika through their Moon Marks.
  • Jing Yang and Kite listened to the voices in the mist, and Jing Yang concluded that the island was a trial where visitors had to make and uphold an oath to escape.
  • Jing Yang suspected the mist would drive anyone who broke an oath to madness and recognized that Kite's teacher, Ging Freecss, might also be nearby.

Ch. 195Vow

Jing Yang and Kite crossed the Black Mist archipelago, discovering that its islands forced Nen Users to make vows tied to their Nen categories. Kurapika reached the central tower and encountered Ging, while Jing Yang and Kite arrived at the Emitter island as an ominous presence approached.

  • Jing Yang and Kite discussed how Oath Island made any vow take effect, and Jing Yang concluded that its vows could become a dangerous trap.
  • The woman Jing Yang had captured died after apparently making a vow, and Jing Yang kicked her corpse into the sea.
  • Kite explained that the archipelago had six rings corresponding to the Nen categories, and he and Jing Yang headed toward the Emitter island.
  • Jing Yang vowed to manipulate seawater within the archipelago, then used his new ability to control and walk across the sea; Kite revealed that his one-time conjured raft let him travel there.
  • Kurapika rowed toward the central island, defeated a fish-man attacker, and met a hooded man named Ging, who conjured a Skull Knight resembling Kurapika's ability.
  • Jing Yang and Kite reached the Emitter island, where an ominous presence began approaching them.

Ch. 196Unpossessable People

Shizuku crossed Transmuter Island and discovered a group of Unpossessable People sacrificing themselves to empower their captain, while Jing Yang absorbed Death Qi from their deaths. Their actions awakened a colossal presence in the Black Mist, which Ging identified as the Nen left behind by Viggo Hui Guo Rou.

  • Shizuku used Nen Chain Saws and Blobfish to reach Transmuter Island, where she found two groups fighting in the mist.
  • Two followers of the Second Prince revealed they had vowed to die so their lingering Nen would strengthen their captain, then slit their throats.
  • Shizuku warned Jing Yang to get away, but he had already absorbed two streams of Death Qi.
  • As Shizuku hurried toward Jing Yang, the Black Mist gathered into a gigantic human silhouette and an ominous presence stirred.
  • Ging showed Biot the giant figure and identified it as Nen left behind by Viggo Hui Guo Rou, while Kurapika studied the spire beneath them.

Ch. 197Number One Player

Ging tried to move the Divine Character-covered spire on Specialist Island, awakening a giant presence in the Black Mist as Jing Yang neared an uncontrollable change from Death Qi. Jing Yang vanished after Ging arrived, and the spire rose from the sea as a colossal arrow, leaving Ging eager to discover what it was.

  • Ging told Kurapika that Specialist Island extended a thousand meters to the seabed, then used his Nen to try to move the spire without success.
  • The spire began shaking as thick Black Mist rose, and Kurapika ran toward the giant figure appearing within it.
  • Jing Yang struggled with the effects of accumulated Death Qi while Kite fought an empowered Unpossessable Person and Shizuku came to help.
  • A giant hand seized the Unpossessable Person and dragged him into the mist; Jing Yang then passed out as Ging emerged and the giant shadow disappeared.
  • Shizuku found Jing Yang and his Guardian Spirit Beast had vanished, while Ging suspected the presence in the mist had taken him and might be his ancestor.
  • Specialist Island began crumbling as the spire rose from the sea, revealing itself to be a huge arrow.

Ch. 198Till the Seas Run Dry and the Rocks Crumble

After the island’s gigantic arrow launched toward the Dark Continent, Jing Yang reappeared transformed by Death Qi and reunited with Shizuku, Kurapika, Kite, and Ging. The story then shifted to Pariston confronting Beyond at the edge of the human world, where a giant ant attacked them.

  • Kite, Kurapika, and Shizuku watched the gigantic arrow rise from the island as the Black Mist dispersed.
  • Jing Yang reappeared much taller and older-looking, teased Shizuku about his height, and showed off his Aura sword.
  • Ging identified the flying arrow as one left by True Martial King Viggo and guessed that it was heading toward the Dark Continent.
  • Pariston found Beyond at the farthest point on the map and learned that a Nen restriction tied to Beyond’s father, Isaac Netero, prevented him from stepping toward the Dark Continent.
  • A giant ant surged out of the sea and lunged at Beyond, who released his Aura to face it.

Ch. 199Blue Skies and Yellow Springs

Jing Yang encountered the True Martial King within the black mist, learned he had no Kakin royal blood, and received a Nen-draining sword aura after the king destroyed Reflection. Back with Ging, Shizuku, Kurapika, and Kite, Jing Yang made a vow to control the Death Qi in his heart, while Ging sent Kite away to complete his final test.

  • Jing Yang woke with a grown body and watched his gray aura flow toward a figure on a Divine Script throne, who revealed that Jing Yang had no Hui Guo Rou royal blood and Reflection was not a Guardian Spirit Beast.
  • The True Martial King explained that he had died after his vow prevented him from using his Nen Ability to save his wife, then destroyed Reflection and left Jing Yang with a sword aura that absorbed opponents’ Nen.
  • Jing Yang tested the sword aura on Ging, discovering it could drain Aura through contact and replenish his own expenditure, though Ging could not imitate it.
  • Ging used a Greed Island card to send Kite flying away and told him to find him using Magnetic Force to finish his Hunter training.
  • Kurapika noticed the mist and Nen residue had vanished from the islands, while Shizuku worried about Jing Yang’s unpredictable growth.
  • Jing Yang vowed never to kill for the purpose of taking Death Qi and to lose every Nen Ability if he broke the vow, causing a gray vortex to appear over his heart.

Ch. 200Death Aura Panel

Jing Yang established a Vow and Restriction that let him control the Death Qi in his heart, revealing a Nen-affinity panel and a way to direct residual Death Qi into improving his abilities. He and Shizuku returned toward the others, while Beyond and Pariston identified a huge creature as a Chimera Ant and anticipated its guards.

  • Jing Yang resolved that he would never kill to plunder Death Qi, and his Vow and Restriction manifested as a panel showing his Nen affinities and total Nen.
  • Jing Yang named the ability Upper Heaven Lower Hell, causing Specialist to rise to 100% and shifting his other affinity values; he directed residual Death Qi into Transmuter to increase it.
  • Shizuku woke Jing Yang from his trance, and he reassured her that he could now control the Death Qi and would not suffer another uncontrolled transformation.
  • Jing Yang noticed gray cracks on his chest, changed into clean clothes from Shizuku's supplies, and headed with her to see whether the others had found a way off the island.
  • Beyond and Pariston examined a giant, injured Chimera Ant; Beyond identified it as a male Ant King, and three black shadows raced toward them through the sea.

Ch. 201Between a Single Thought

Jing Yang, Shizuku, Kurapika, and Kite found themselves stranded on ordinary islands after the Divine Character arrow disappeared, so they built rafts and gathered supplies. That night, Jing Yang used Death Qi to refine more Nen into his total aura, and Kite saw him still meditating at sunrise.

  • Jing Yang, Shizuku, Kurapika, and Kite determined that their Vows and Restrictions could not get them off the islands, so they built a second raft from fallen trees.
  • Kite used Crazy Slots to conjure a sniper rifle and shot a sea beast, then drew the Invisible Sword and helped cut the raft logs.
  • Jing Yang and Shizuku crossed to the neighboring island with Kurapika, found the bodies of the Unpossessable People and two of the First Prince’s soldiers, and took their military rope.
  • The group returned to Kite’s island, finished preparing the rafts, and rested around a campfire after nightfall.
  • Jing Yang injected the Death Qi absorbed from Kite’s shot into his total Nen quantity and spent the night refining the resulting Aura.
  • At sunrise, Kite saw Jing Yang meditating as the number representing his total Nen quantity continued to rise.
