Ch. 1Nen Abilities

Jing Yang woke in the body of a small child amid a massacre and discovered he could control wolves using a strange Nen-like ability. After killing two wolves through the body of one he controlled, he realized the woman’s swaddling blanket did not seem to belong to him, while more wolves howled nearby.

  • Jing Yang awoke beneath corpses in a child’s body and found himself surrounded by dead people and a pack of Wild Wolves.
  • Jing Yang used a strand of hair and a pentagram-shaped mark to take control of one Wild Wolf, then killed a second wolf while fighting through its body.
  • Jing Yang tried to control another wolf with a pentagram formed from blood, but the attempt failed, so he used the controlled wolf to kill it instead.
  • Jing Yang felt strange energy enter his heart after the wolves died and realized similar energy from the corpses may have caused his earlier pain.
  • Jing Yang noticed the dead woman’s swaddling blanket was meant for a newborn, leaving him unsure whose baby he had become as more Wild Wolves howled nearby.

Ch. 2Water Divination

Jing Yang escaped the Wild Wolf pack with the help of a glowing tiger and tested the control abilities of his Rose Gold Five-Pointed Star Mark. After finding a wrecked cruise ship and recognizing the writing as belonging to Hunter x Hunter, he prepared to use Water Divination to confirm where he had transmigrated.

  • Jing Yang used a controlled Wild Wolf as a decoy, but a glowing tiger drove off the pack and carried him away.
  • Jing Yang recalled the injured Wild Wolf with a verbal command and tested three ways to control it while traveling with the tiger.
  • The Wild Wolf tracked bloodstains and the smell of the sea, leading Jing Yang to a wrecked cruise ship where he found unfamiliar writing he recognized as Hunter x Hunter's script.
  • Jing Yang concluded that he might have awakened Nen in the Hunter World and headed back to the ship to perform Water Divination with a cup of water and a leaf.

Ch. 3This Was Way Too Interesting!

Jing Yang tested the activation conditions of his Star Mark ability and discovered that it also granted marked targets rapid healing, which he used to mark himself. A distant gunshot then triggered a strange presence inside him, and he collapsed beside Big Tiger.

  • Jing Yang used Water Divination and confirmed that he was a Manipulator, then named his control ability Star Mark.
  • Jing Yang removed the mark from the Wild Wolf and tested different ways of placing a pentagram, concluding that it had to touch the target's body directly and be covered by his aura.
  • Jing Yang learned from a newspaper that it was November 29, 1994, and suspected he was in the Kakin Kingdom after recognizing its king in a photograph.
  • Big Tiger wounded the Wild Wolf at Jing Yang's request, and Jing Yang discovered that a Star Mark made the wound heal rapidly.
  • Jing Yang marked his own neck to gain the healing effect, but a distant gunshot was followed by a strange sensation in his heart, and he collapsed.

Ch. 4Delivery Right to the Door

Muser killed the last hunter who had fought him, then returned to the cruise ship to search for the missing infant and found Jing Yang waiting there. Muser shot Jing Yang, but Jing Wolf’s hidden attack successfully manipulated him.

  • Muser used the Aura from his Rear Window Bird to defeat and kill the exhausted hunter, then took the hunter’s Hunter License.
  • Muser returned to the site of the earlier battle, found the woman dead, and discovered that the infant boy was missing.
  • Muser reported to the prince, who ordered him to find and eliminate the mother and child, then Muser searched the woman’s cruise ship.
  • Muser found signs of a Nen User aboard the ship and was attacked by a Fanged Moon Tiger while Jing Yang attempted to manipulate him.
  • Muser dismissed Rear Window Bird to regain Aura, broke free enough to shoot Jing Yang in the neck, and believed he had killed him.
  • Jing Wolf watched from a cracked door as the Bloody Pentagram on Muser’s temple became a rose-gold Star Mark, and the manipulation succeeded.

Ch. 5Post-mortem Nen?

Jing Yang controlled and beat Muser, took his Hunter License, and questioned him about the woman and her son. Muser suggested that a peculiar Nen born from the dying woman’s corpse had parasitized Jing Yang and accelerated his growth.

  • Muser awoke under Jing Yang’s control and realized his wounds and the Fanged Moon Tiger’s wounds had healed.
  • Jing Yang slapped and kicked Muser, searched his belongings, and took his Hunter License.
  • Jing Yang ordered the Fanged Moon Tiger to attack Muser, then questioned him in a language he could understand.
  • Jing Yang removed the phone’s battery, SIM card, and memory card and threw them into the sea.
  • Muser claimed the Hunter License was his and asked Jing Yang who he was and where the woman’s son was.
  • Muser told Jing Yang that he suspected the dying woman’s corpse had produced a Nen that parasitized him and accelerated his growth.

Ch. 6Wu Er

Jing Yang confined Muser and guarded against his escape while considering how to kill him despite the healing granted by Star Mark. As he rested with Wu Er, he recalled that nearby deaths had caused strange auras to accumulate in his heart and trigger sudden growth, leaving him uncertain what the phenomenon meant.

  • Jing Yang dismissed Muser’s questions, forced him into a windowless room, and ordered him not to leave without permission.
  • Muser realized he could move freely and believed he could activate his own Nen ability, Rear Window Bird, against Jing Yang.
  • Jing Yang named the healed Fanged Moon Tiger Wu Er and tried to remove the Star Mark hidden beneath its fur.
  • Jing Yang restored Wild Wolf’s consciousness and ordered it to kill Muser if he left the room.
  • Jing Yang sat at the cabin entrance with Wu Er and reflected on the branch that had grown from a Water Divination leaf.
  • Jing Yang remembered that deaths near him caused an aura to enter his heart, and that accumulating too much of it made him lose consciousness and grow suddenly.

Ch. 7Goodbye (Part 1)

Jing Yang survived Muser’s attack and reflected on how much he needed to strengthen his Nen. Muser remained trapped by Jing Yang’s command and killed himself, leaving Jing Yang to discover his body after waking to a gunshot.

  • Jing Yang prepared the cruise ship for an intruder, hiding Wild Wolf and placing a Star Mark on the striped tiger so it could help him fight.
  • Jing Yang considered how narrowly he had won his first battle and planned to train his Nen fundamentals and investigate the strange Aura he called Death Qi.
  • Muser tried and failed to activate Rear Window Bird, then realized Jing Yang’s manipulation command still prevented him from leaving the sealed room.
  • Muser assembled a miniature pistol from components hidden in his shoe, said goodbye to Prince Benjamin, and shot himself.
  • Wu Er woke Jing Yang after the gunshot, and Jing Yang used Wild Wolf’s perspective to enter Muser’s room and find his body.

Ch. 8See You Again (Part 2)

Jing Yang discovered that destroying a Star Mark could kill its bearer, then disposed of Muser’s body and prepared to leave the island. After burying two other bodies and naming his broader Nen ability “Song of the Earth,” he rode away with Wu Er and the Wild Wolf.

  • Jing Yang examined Muser’s destroyed Star Mark and concluded that breaking a mark on a vital spot could kill its bearer.
  • Jing Yang and Wu Er sank Muser’s corpse with a weight, then gathered supplies from the ship and headed ashore with the Wild Wolf.
  • Jing Yang followed the scent of blood to a body Muser had killed and carried it back toward the place where he had awakened.
  • Jing Yang cleared and burned the tall grass, tested aura-based manipulation, and named his Nen ability “Song of the Earth.”
  • Jing Yang buried the suspected Professional Hunter, then buried the woman he believed was his birth mother and called her his godmother.
  • Jing Yang said goodbye to the island and left on Wu Er with the Wild Wolf following.

Ch. 9The Path of Training

Jing Yang trained the basic Nen principles Ten and Zetsu while waiting in a forest for the Wild Wolf to find food in his traps. He reviewed how Nen type affinities shaped a user’s training path and decided to build his Aura foundation before practicing Ren.

  • Jing Yang condensed and enveloped himself in Aura, mastering Ten in about a minute.
  • Jing Yang explained that the Wild Wolf was patrolling his bird traps and would scratch its leg to alert him when one caught prey.
  • Jing Yang practiced switching between Ten and Zetsu and postponed Ren because his Aura reserves were limited.
  • Jing Yang reviewed the six Nen types and how each user’s affinity determined their training efficiency.
  • Jing Yang noted that Shingen-ryu recommended focusing on a user’s primary type and its adjacent types, leaving him with a training path shaped by his Manipulator affinity.

Ch. 10Total Nen Quantity

Jing Yang trained his Nen fundamentals and discovered that his total Nen quantity was only 100 Aura, so he set a goal of reaching 1,000. Meanwhile, Benjamin Hui Guo Rou realized that Muser had died and summoned Babimayna.

  • Jing Yang practiced Ten, Zetsu, Gyo, and Ken, quickly learning to use Gyo to perceive Aura.
  • Jing Yang explained how Ken training measured total Nen quantity and compared his progress with Gon and Killua’s.
  • Jing Yang maintained Ken for one hundred seconds before collapsing, then estimated his total Nen quantity at 100 Aura.
  • Jing Yang recovered with help from Wu Er and resumed training with a goal of reaching 1,000 Aura.
  • Benjamin Hui Guo Rou saw the five-pointed star in his palm, understood that Muser had died, and called for Babimayna.

Ch. 11Isn't This Something Anyone with Hands Can Do?

Jing Yang practiced Emitter and Manipulator techniques, then used the Rose Gold Five-Pointed Star Mark to make himself continue his Nen training despite his exhaustion. After eating and resting beside Wu Er, he sensed a pale childlike figure watching him in the forest, but it vanished when he looked closely.

  • Jing Yang learned to fire Nen bullets and found that charging and aiming with a finger-flicking pose increased their power, though the effort nearly drained his aura.
  • Jing Yang used Song of the Earth to manipulate a hair wrapped in aura into different shapes, then ate and told Wu Er to hunt for food.
  • Jing Yang ordered himself to resume training, and the Rose Gold Five-Pointed Star Mark activated, making his body rise and complete repeated Nen exercises.
  • Wu Er returned at dusk with a rabbit, and Jing Yang ate it by the campfire before realizing the wolf had not returned.
  • Jing Yang sensed a pale, childlike figure watching from the dark woods, but it disappeared when he focused on it.

Ch. 12A Leap in Strength

Jing Yang trained his Nen until his strength increased dramatically, then used controlled birds to survey the forest and locate a route toward the coast. After discovering that Wu Er had escaped an endangered-animal reserve, he decided to confront the suspected poachers inside.

  • Jing Yang noticed that Wu Er’s glowing stripes could create a visual illusion, while his Wild Wolf failed to find the pale figure he had glimpsed in the forest.
  • Jing Yang trained his Nen for three days, raised his total aura to 1,000, and demonstrated his strength by smashing a tree and blasting away its broken upper trunk.
  • Jing Yang knocked five birds from the treetops, marked them for control, and used their airborne viewpoints to map the peninsula and find towns along its east and west coasts.
  • Jing Yang spotted an amusement park in the distance and traveled with Wu Er and the Wild Wolf toward the East Coast town area.
  • Jing Yang found a sign identifying the area as an endangered Fanged Moon Tiger reserve and suspected that Wu Er had escaped after poachers wounded it.
  • Jing Yang mounted Wu Er and set off to confront the people he suspected were poachers.

Ch. 13The Feeling of Winning Was Great

Jing Yang and Wild Wolf ambushed a group of five poachers, and Jing Yang defeated their Nen-using leader, Galo, while the Star Marks helped control and heal allies. After examining Wild Wolf's regenerating body, Jing Yang met a short-haired green girl who had emerged from the forest.

  • Jing Yang used Star Mark-controlled birds to locate five poachers and destroyed Galo's floating Nen eye, alerting the group.
  • Wild Wolf attacked the poachers, while Jing Yang used pentagram marks to control two of them; Galo shot those men and wounded Jing Yang and Wild Wolf.
  • Jing Yang fought Galo with Finger Flick Divine Art and Ken, then defeated him with a ten-second charged attack.
  • Wu Er recovered as the Star Marks healed him, and Jing Yang examined Wild Wolf's severed head as it began moving back toward its body.
  • A young girl with short green hair emerged from the forest and asked Jing Yang if he had dealt with the poachers by himself.

Ch. 14Gourmet Hunter

Jing Yang reflected on the Aura cost of his techniques, then explained little to Menchi while leaving her to handle the captured Poachers and Fanged Moon Tigers. He rode Wu Er east toward the coastal towns, leaving Menchi calling after him.

  • Jing Yang removed the Star Marks from the wolf and two Poachers, confirming that the marks kept their hosts alive despite fatal injuries until they were removed.
  • Menchi introduced herself as a newly certified Professional Hunter and explained that she had come to capture the Poachers and protect the Fanged Moon Tigers.
  • Jing Yang showed Menchi his Hunter License, questioned her Nen training, and praised her as a promising rookie.
  • Jing Yang left Menchi to contact the authorities and guard the Poachers, then rode Wu Er away toward the eastern coastal towns.

Ch. 15Assigning Tasks

After reviewing how much Aura he had spent in his first Nen battle, Jing Yang decided to conserve energy and keep training. He assigned the birds and Wu Er scouting and training-site tasks, then headed to the amusement park to find food.

  • Jing Yang calculated that his brief fight had consumed nearly 900 Aura and concluded he should rely on Ten instead of maintaining Ken constantly until he improved his perception and Flow.
  • Jing Yang chose the Gray Bird to accompany him and sent two greenish birds to watch the abandoned cruise ship on the North Coast.
  • Jing Yang ordered two white-feathered birds to patrol with Wu Er and asked Wu Er to find a suitable training spot in the woods.
  • Wu Er headed into the forest with one of the white birds, while Jing Yang named the Gray Bird Rock Sparrow and walked toward the amusement park to buy food.

Ch. 16Someone as Handsome as Me Should Keep a Low Profile First

Jing Yang settled into the amusement park, ate, cleaned up, and tried to learn more about the Hunter World. After discovering that the park was tied to Blanche Company and Ghost Island, he went to an Internet Cafe to search for answers.

  • Jing Yang used his Hunter License to order a meal at the Elf Hotel, then bought clothes and washed up at the amusement park.
  • Jing Yang noticed local thugs following him, vanished behind a fountain, and overheard them mention Black Licenses.
  • Jing Yang saw a sign linking Blanche Company, Ghost Island, and the Elf Amusement Park, then evaded two security guards by sending Little Rock Sparrow at them.
  • Jing Yang recalled the pale boy he had seen near the protected area and headed to an Internet Cafe to investigate Ghost Island and the world around him.

Ch. 17Surfing the World

Jing Yang researched the Hunter World’s geography and politics, worried that his godmother’s death might be tied to Kakin, and decided to stay on the island for a month while he grew stronger and investigated. He found news about the Kurta Clan massacre and Hunter Association records before Menchi tracked him down at an Internet cafe.

  • Jing Yang studied the world map, concluded that his current island lay far from the manga’s main plot, and planned to tour the western continents after he grew stronger.
  • Jing Yang considered whether his godmother’s killers had been connected to Kakin, then decided to spend up to a month on the island investigating while he trained.
  • Jing Yang read an old report blaming the Phantom Troupe for the Kurta Clan massacre and wondered whether Kurapika was reading the same coverage.
  • Jing Yang searched the Hunter Association’s public website, found Menchi’s name among the successful candidates from the 282nd exam, and teased her about her Nen abilities.
  • Menchi found Jing Yang at the Internet cafe, and Jing Yang asked why the island was called Ghost Island.

Ch. 18What Disney?

Jing Yang researched the Blanchette Company, left Menchi at the internet cafe, and reflected on his loneliness and purpose. He chose to pursue becoming an eternal, undying, indestructible existence, then sensed people approaching the cruise ship and projected his consciousness to his watching birds.

  • Jing Yang and Menchi searched for the Blanchette Company and learned that Hunter Association member Allantrail Blanchette founded the powerful corporation.
  • Jing Yang slipped away from Menchi, bought feed for the Little Rock Sparrow, ate, and found an inn for the night.
  • Jing Yang felt lonely without Wu Er, sensed that Wu Er and the two white birds were near the towns along the East Coast, and cheered up while playing with the Little Rock Sparrow.
  • Jing Yang decided to pursue becoming an eternal, undying, indestructible existence and formed a ball of Aura in his palm.
  • Jing Yang received a signal that humans were approaching the cruise ship and projected his consciousness onto the two birds watching it.

Ch. 19En

Jing Yang used two birds to spy on rival groups investigating Ghost Island and learned that Kakin and Ochima had agreed to investigate separately for twenty days. After Slooe’s party left for West Town, one of Jing Yang’s birds followed their vehicle.

  • Jing Yang used two green birds to observe a Nen User’s En covering the wrecked cruise ship, then watched as the En vanished and Babimayna emerged with his subordinates.
  • Babimayna told Slooe that Kakin and Ochima had agreed not to interfere with each other’s investigations on the island for twenty days.
  • Slooe left the ship with Kang Jae, Shizuku, and his other companions, explaining that they would return to West Town and negotiate with Blanche Company the next day.
  • Jing Yang controlled a green bird to follow Slooe’s party and land on the rear SUV.

Ch. 20Star Mark Evolution

Jing Yang secretly monitored the Kakin delegation investigating Ghost Island while considering the limits of his Nen Ability, Song of the Earth. He tested a new way to control Wu Er and discovered he could suppress the tiger’s consciousness while leaving it able to perceive him.

  • Slooe told Shizuku and the other amateur Hunters that they would investigate why Kakin’s Royal Family had kept Ghost Island secret for twenty-four years, while he negotiated with Blanche Company.
  • Jing Yang used two green birds to watch the hotel in West Town and Babimayna’s group near the North Coast, then decided to observe the Kakin delegation rather than confront it.
  • Jing Yang visited Wu Er with meat and wondered whether he could change commands after taking control of a target.
  • Jing Yang controlled Wu Er and suppressed its consciousness, then let it surface beneath a crack of silver light while its body remained under his control.
  • Jing Yang asked Wu Er whether it could hear him, confirming that Song of the Earth was still developing and could be altered.
