Ch. 41What Whitebeard?

Jing Yang and the others secured a doubled reward for discovering the True Martial King's empty tomb and agreed to travel with Slooe while the evidence was reviewed. After learning that a Heaven's Arena Floor Master had died after announcing the True Martial King's treasure was real, Jing Yang asked Dago where the Kakin people had gone.

  • Slooe offered the Hunters a second-tier reward of four million Jenie, and Dago and the others agreed to wait for the review while traveling with him.
  • Jing Yang arranged for his share to be transferred to Shizuku's account because he had no bank account or official identity.
  • Kang Jae, Slooe, and the others discussed rumors of the True Martial King's treasure, and Slooe showed them a video of Alpha Edward's fatal fall from Heaven's Arena after he declared the treasure existed.
  • Dago explained that Alpha Edward's death had helped fuel interest in the treasure and suggested Galo had been influenced by the incident.
  • Shizuku confirmed the money had arrived, and Jing Yang, Shizuku, and Menchi left after agreeing to meet Slooe's group at West Town Harbor.
  • Dago offered to treat the three Hunters to dinner, but Jing Yang declined and asked where the Kakin people, including the cauliflower-haired man, had gone.

Ch. 42Sword Sect, Aura Sect

Jing Yang reunited with Shizuku and trained with her and Menchi, who demonstrated how her cooking restored Aura. The chapter ended with Babimayna finishing a brief mission report to the First Prince aboard a ship bound for Kakin.

  • Jing Yang left with Shizuku and Menchi, and Menchi arranged to meet them for training and food.
  • Jing Yang reunited with Wu Er, Rock Sparrow, and the crows, though Shizuku did not recognize them.
  • Menchi's cooking restored Shizuku's Aura, and Shizuku revealed her Blobfish ability while Jing Yang identified himself as a History type.
  • Jing Yang considered the tradeoff between increasing total Nen and developing Nen abilities as he struggled to improve his Ken training.
  • Shizuku maintained Ken far longer than Menchi, while Jing Yang ate food that helped restore his depleted Aura.
  • Babimayna ended his brief mission report to the First Prince aboard a ship crossing the sea toward Kakin.

Ch. 43Subconscious

Jing Yang explored how Shizuku’s Blobfish ability judged what counted as a living creature and whether its limits might depend on her understanding. After discussing the subconscious and Nen vows, he suggested Blobfish could retrieve more than Shizuku remembered, then said they needed to wait before proposing another arm-wrestling match.

  • A Blanche Company staff member delivered the latest Elf Phone to Jing Yang, who brought it to Shizuku’s room.
  • Shizuku worried the phone might be a bomb and used Blobfish to test it, then explained that it could suck up anything she considered nonliving.
  • Jing Yang reasoned that Shizuku’s subconscious determined how Blobfish judged living creatures and reflected on Kurapika’s abilities and dangerous Nen vows.
  • Shizuku used Blobfish to clean the room and said it could only spit out the last thing it had sucked up.
  • Jing Yang suggested Blobfish might retrieve anything Shizuku remembered, and Shizuku agreed that this might be possible.
  • Jing Yang looked out the window, said they needed to wait a little longer, and proposed another arm-wrestling match.

Ch. 44Farewell, Departure

Jing Yang and Shizuku tested their Nen abilities, then trained with Menchi until dusk before preparing to leave Ghost Island. Jing Yang entrusted Wu Er to Shiro’s care and departed for Geleburg with Shizuku and Menchi, promising himself he would return when he was strong enough to take the tiger with him.

  • Jing Yang demonstrated his manipulation ability to Shizuku and helped her explore the limits of her Blobfish.
  • Jing Yang, Shizuku, and Menchi trained with Nen and used Menchi’s green seasoning to recover, increasing their Ken duration and Aura.
  • Jing Yang worried that adopting endangered Fanged Moon Tiger Wu Er would expose the false identity tied to his Hunter License.
  • Jing Yang asked Shiro to look after Wu Er, and Shiro agreed with a high-five.
  • Jing Yang, Shizuku, and Menchi boarded a ship at West Town port and left Ghost Island for Geleburg.

Ch. 45A Temporary Conclusion

Benjamin reviewed Babimayna’s report and ordered the court to prepare for the missing hunter’s possible revenge, while Ging failed to verify Jing Yang’s identity and set the matter aside. Aboard a ship bound for Geleburg, Menchi invited Jing Yang out, but he said he was busy and clutched his chest.

  • Benjamin and Balsamilko considered whether Jing Yang was the missing hunter who had served the Deposed Consort and might have picked up his Hunter License.
  • Benjamin ordered Babimayna and Balsamilko to assume the missing man was alive and hostile, retain their information on Jing Yang and the other hunters, and prepare for future conflict.
  • Camilla insulted Benjamin in the palace corridor, and Benjamin threatened her before leaving for the ballroom.
  • Ging searched Hunter Association records for Jing Yang, considered asking Biot for help, then decided to drop the inquiry.
  • Menchi called through Jing Yang’s cabin door aboard a ship bound for Geleburg, and Jing Yang replied that he was busy before clutching his chest.

Ch. 46Playing Cards

Jing Yang worried about absorbing Death Qi from the sea, then spent the voyage playing cards and studying a map with Shizuku and Menchi. As their ship docked, he realized he had absorbed several more wisps of Death Qi without noticing.

  • Jing Yang traced a wisp of Death Qi to a sea creature dying below the ship and waited to see whether more would come.
  • Jing Yang bought two decks of cards and a world map with Dago's help, then declined to join the Hunters' gathering.
  • Jing Yang went to Shizuku and Menchi's cabin and invited them to play cards and look at places on the map.
  • Jing Yang, Shizuku, and Menchi played cards and passed the voyage together, with Shizuku losing most often.
  • As the ship reached port, Jing Yang realized he had absorbed several scattered wisps of Death Qi while distracted.

Ch. 47Hey

After weather delayed their departure, Jing Yang and Shizuku stayed in Geleburg with Kang Jae and Slooe, while Menchi chose to travel around the Nu'amili Continent on her own. The next morning, Jing Yang and Shizuku saw Menchi off by train, leaving their own journey through Ochima to begin.

  • Kang Jae agreed to remain with Slooe's group until his bodyguard contract ended, and the travelers checked into a hotel for the night.
  • At dinner, Jing Yang asked Kang Jae about becoming a Zodiac, and Kang Jae offered to recommend him as a replacement if Jing Yang could beat him.
  • Jing Yang tested his Bright Moon Mark by drawing one with juice on the windowsill and covering it with Aura.
  • On January 16, Jing Yang and Shizuku saw Menchi off as she left to explore the Nu'amili Continent and hunt ingredients.
  • Menchi and Jing Yang exchanged boasts and bumped fists with Shizuku before Menchi boarded her train, then she called back to ask Jing Yang what type he was.

Ch. 48Boom

Jing Yang and Shizuku trained aboard the train, then helped stop a robbery before reaching Cosmo. As they prepared to part ways with Slooe’s group, a bomb attack erupted near the station, leaving their fate uncertain.

  • Jing Yang and Shizuku practiced Ken in their shared train room while Rock Sparrow roamed the carriages.
  • At dawn, robbers took over a carriage, and Jing Yang and Shizuku disarmed and knocked them out.
  • The group reached Cosmo Station and learned that a marathon had crowded the streets outside.
  • A young man with a bag emerged from the crowd, and an explosion struck beside Jing Yang’s group as Kang Jae tried to shield Slooe.

Ch. 49Xing Yi Quan Fa

A terrorist bombing devastated the marathon crowd, and Jing Yang’s attempt to stop the remaining attackers overwhelmed his ability to contain the Death Qi. Shizuku carried him away as he began to lose consciousness, while Kang Jae and the others stayed behind amid the aftermath.

  • A bomb exploded near Shizuku and Jing Yang, killing bystanders and injuring Shizuku while Jing Yang felt Death Qi push him closer to transforming.
  • Kang Jae protected Slooe from a grenade by transforming into a humanoid tiger and absorbing the blast against his chest.
  • Kang Jae roared to incapacitate the crowd, exposing the remaining terrorists, and he and Jing Yang killed all five before they could detonate more bombs.
  • The five new streams of Death Qi overwhelmed Jing Yang, who told Shizuku to follow his orders and take him away.
  • Shizuku carried Jing Yang off and threatened Kang Jae and the others with Blobfish when they tried to stop her.

Ch. 50Shizuku Takes the Initiative...

After waking from a five-hour sleep, Jing Yang discovered that his body had grown taller and learned how Shizuku had protected him while he was unconscious. He worried that seeking medical care could expose him, then offered to place a Star Mark on Shizuku to help her recover.

  • Jing Yang examined his changed appearance and realized he had grown to about Shizuku's height.
  • Shizuku explained that Jing Yang's body had rapidly grown while she hid with him, then she brought him to an inn and set his three birds to guard the room.
  • Jing Yang thanked Shizuku for keeping his transformation secret and explained that nearby deaths caused something to enter his body and trigger the changes.
  • Jing Yang said he could not visit a hospital without risking exposure through the International Server and promised to solve the problem by the time he was twenty-eight.
  • Jing Yang explained that Star Marks could keep their targets from dying immediately even after severe injuries, and Shizuku offered her abdomen as a place for him to draw one.

Ch. 51The Mark's Location

Jing Yang placed a Star Mark on Shizuku, then used its command ability to make her dance before the two postponed their departure and continued training. The chapter ended with them remembering they had forgotten to feed Bird.

  • Jing Yang replaced the Star Mark on Shizuku's abdomen with one she drew near the root of her left leg.
  • Jing Yang demonstrated that the Star Mark let him issue verbal commands by making Shizuku dance, then learned she was fifteen.
  • Jing Yang decided to use his newly grown body to train for several more days before buying spaceship tickets, since the terrorist attack could lead to stricter checks.
  • Jing Yang and Shizuku maintained their strongest Ken in the hotel room until they remembered they had forgotten to feed Bird.

Ch. 52Glass Cannon

Jing Yang and Shizuku trained to increase their total aura, then tested whether rapidly spending aura with a Nen Ability would improve their Ken. Their experiment failed, leaving them to continue training steadily.

  • Jing Yang and Shizuku maintained maximum Ken until they collapsed, recording totals of 6,350 and 7,387 aura respectively.
  • Jing Yang and Shizuku continued their Ken training through the day, raising their records to 6,480 and 7,490 aura.
  • Jing Yang and Shizuku went to a secluded park, where Jing Yang fired charged Finger Flick Divine Arts to exhaust his aura quickly.
  • Jing Yang tested his Ken after recovering and concluded that spending aura with a Nen Ability did not increase his total Nen quantity.
  • Shizuku supported the exhausted Jing Yang as they left the park and returned to the inn.

Ch. 53DoraDrim

Jing Yang and Shizuku continued training as they traveled toward the airport, and Jing Yang commissioned custom rings for their planned Akatsuki's Ten Heavenly Stems. As they went to dinner, Shizuku noticed someone following them, while one of Jing Yang's crows watched the hooded figure.

  • Jing Yang and Shizuku checked out of their inn, trained while moving closer to the airport, and found another place to stay.
  • Jing Yang trained Shizuku in Nen combat and Aura control as their abilities improved over several days.
  • Jing Yang considered combining an Emitter Nen bullet with his Manipulator Star Mark, while Shizuku's training endurance continued to grow.
  • Jing Yang and Shizuku visited a Battra Financial Group jewelry counter, where Jing Yang ordered ten custom rings for the planned members of their organization.
  • Shizuku noticed a hooded figure following them to a restaurant, and a black crow watched the figure from a traffic light.

Ch. 54Spider

Jing Yang and Shizuku encountered Rui Wan, a grieving Nen User who wanted the Phantom Troupe dead, then continued training until Jing Yang reached 9,000 Aura. On February 1, they checked out of the hotel and split up, with Jing Yang going to collect a ring and Shizuku heading to the airport.

  • Rui Wan sat with Jing Yang and Shizuku, introduced himself, and demanded to know why powerful people let the Phantom Troupe live after they destroyed his life.
  • Jing Yang told Rui Wan he could not defeat the Phantom Troupe, then left the restaurant with Shizuku.
  • Shizuku told Jing Yang that she had wanted to find the Phantom Troupe after leaving Meteor City, and said it was natural that someone would want to kill them.
  • On January 31, Shizuku's Nen training ended at 8,848 Aura, while Jing Yang endured for exactly two and a half hours and reached 9,000 Aura.
  • On February 1, Shizuku used Blobfish to store their luggage, then went to the airport while Jing Yang went to pick up a ring.

Ch. 55Why Are They All Familiar Faces?

Jing Yang went to collect the rings and stumbled upon Pariston and several members of the Phantom Troupe in the city. At Cosmo Airport, Shizuku recognized the Troupe while watching the flight board for Jing Yang.

  • Jing Yang hurried toward the mall to collect the rings and entered a video game store after hearing an announcement about Greed Island.
  • Jing Yang met Pariston, who explained that the store's Greed Island game was a knockoff, and watched a crowd confront Pariston over his role in a wife-murder case.
  • Jing Yang spotted Machi, Kalluto, and Chrollo across the street, then continued toward the mall; Pariston noticed the trio's powerful Aura and followed them.
  • Machi, Kalluto, and Chrollo arrived at Cosmo Airport and discussed their lack of leads on the Viggo Treasure and their unease about taking an airship.
  • Chrollo noticed someone watching the group, and the Phantom Troupe members saw a black-haired girl leave the area.
  • Shizuku watched the departure board and recognized the Phantom Troupe, but stayed focused on Jing Yang's request to monitor the flights.

Ch. 56Never Betray Each Other

Jing Yang and Shizuku tested the Moon Mark rings’ ability to transmit thoughts and discussed their encounter with the Phantom Troupe. They separated to test the connection’s range, and Jing Yang heard that someone’s spaceship ticket had been stolen.

  • Shizuku bought two tickets to the Ancient Gukang Jade Country because no flights to the Republic of Batorchia were available that day.
  • Jing Yang activated the Bright Moon marks on his and Shizuku’s rings, allowing them to communicate silently through their thoughts.
  • Jing Yang and Shizuku exchanged information about seeing three members of the Phantom Troupe and discussed why Shizuku did not approach them.
  • Shizuku explained that she would not join the Phantom Troupe because she was committed to Akatsuki and understood what its members were like.
  • Jing Yang and Shizuku left the restaurant to test how far their Moon Mark connection reached, and Jing Yang heard a commotion over someone’s stolen spaceship ticket.

Ch. 57Hisoka's Other Self

Jing Yang and Shizuku boarded an airship after encountering Pariston and hearing reports of repeated ticket thefts. Pariston picked up a ticket to the Ancient Gukang Jade Country and boarded the same airship, while Rui Wan hid aboard and muttered about the Phantom Troupe.

  • Shizuku contacted Jing Yang with her ring, and Jing Yang reported that passengers' airship tickets were being stolen.
  • Jing Yang ran into Pariston in the restroom, then reunited with Shizuku and used her Star Mark to find her in the crowd.
  • Jing Yang and Shizuku overheard passengers describe a tall, skinny ticket thief with deep-set eyes, and security guards chased the thief into a restroom but lost him.
  • Pariston found an airship ticket to the Ancient Gukang Jade Country and boarded the airship after hearing that Okjeski was aboard.
  • Jing Yang spotted Pariston and Machi aboard the airship, while Rui Wan hid in a restroom stall and repeatedly muttered about the Phantom Troupe.

Ch. 58Secret Room Swimming Fish

Jing Yang and Shizuku disguised their auras aboard an airship carrying Pariston and three Phantom Troupe members. When Jing Yang sensed something was wrong and followed Pariston at night, he saw a huge white fish floating inside a luxury suite.

  • Jing Yang and Shizuku boarded the airship and discovered that Pariston was staying in the neighboring room; Chrollo spotted Pariston and called him an expert.
  • Pariston warned Okjeski that an assassin aboard the airship wanted to kill him and urged him to remain inside his suite.
  • Jing Yang and Shizuku practiced disguising their auras as those of ordinary people, then ate in the entertainment area and watched the sea of clouds.
  • Jing Yang worked on combining his Star Mark with a Nen bullet, while Shizuku practiced with her Blobfish Vacuum.
  • After Jing Yang sensed that the nighttime atmosphere was wrong, he followed Pariston to the luxury suite area and saw a huge white fish floating beside Okjeski.

Ch. 59Humans Really Are Interesting

Jing Yang witnessed Pariston tormenting Okjeski with Secret Room Swimming Fish while Chrollo considered stealing the ability. On his way back to his room, Jing Yang felt something was wrong aboard the airship, as countless strange Nen balls drifted through it and Rui Wan muttered silently in a washroom.

  • Jing Yang found Pariston using Secret Room Swimming Fish to consume Okjeski, who had escaped conviction for murdering his wife, while Chrollo arrived and examined the ability.
  • Pariston admitted he wanted to destroy Okjeski because the man had enjoyed escaping punishment, and Chrollo told Pariston he was a fan.
  • Jing Yang left and walked through the observation area, feeling uneasy despite the passengers behaving normally and wondering what would happen if Chrollo stole Pariston's ability.
  • Jing Yang returned to his room, where Shizuku asked what fish he meant.
  • Special Nen balls drifted through every part of the airship as Rui Wan, withered in a washroom, silently muttered.

Ch. 60Simply Super Happy

After Okje died when the Secret Room Swimming Fish disappeared, Jing Yang and Shizuku discovered Chrollo had stolen Pariston’s ability by having him sign a book. Pariston revealed his enjoyment of being hated, and an airship security officer summoned him and Jing Yang.

  • Jing Yang told Shizuku that Okje had died after someone opened his room and the Secret Room Swimming Fish vanished.
  • Jing Yang and Shizuku went to the murder scene, then found Pariston and Chrollo talking over breakfast in the entertainment area.
  • Chrollo left after Pariston signed his book, and Pariston told Jing Yang that he had stolen the Secret Room Swimming Fish.
