The next day, at the Film Crew's base.
After a brief discussion, the director began working on the screenplay for New Halloween: The Apocalypse and the Demons, while expanding the studio and constructing city sets depicting a world after the apocalypse.
They also assigned the enthusiastic Ninth Calamity the task of providing zombie extras.
There were currently three options for the extras.
The first was open recruitment. However, too many people were needed, and recruiting a large number of malicious individuals might even draw the First Calamity's suspicion. It was completely unnecessary.
The second was to exploit certain malicious entities capable of splitting or reproducing, such as Tomie, and mass-produce zombie actors directly. This would greatly reduce costs, but the excessive homogeneity might become a problem, putting the film's details to the test.
The third was to use the people kept by the Film Crew, along with humans captured from other worlds, as extras. This would eliminate labor costs while ensuring authenticity. These humans, tainted by malice, had nowhere good to belong anyway. Perhaps by serving as extras, they might even gain a sliver of hope for survival.
After choosing the third option,
Yi Chen accompanied the zombie to the captive area inside the Film Crew's base. It had a dungeon-like structure, with a spiral staircase leading downward. Large numbers of "people" were imprisoned below.
Yi Chen had an instinctive disgust toward the concept of captivity.
But when he reached the bottom, the scene reflected in his eyes was completely beyond his expectations.
The so-called captive area had no real cages. Instead, it consisted of individual, fairly well-decorated four-person dormitories. There was even a gym, a communal activity area, and more.
Aside from three hours of acting practice every day, the supposedly captive humans were free to do as they
