the moonlight that had illuminated every corner of the City of Evil disappeared. The lighthouse at the very top of the Mental Hospital seemed to have been shut down, perhaps temporarily or even permanently. The skyscraper no longer monitored the entire city, and the First Calamity's sense of dominion had weakened.

Lorien had served as the "wick" for long enough. His consciousness had mostly dissipated within the lighthouse, and he was now completely controlled by the First Calamity. Through surgery, the two had been perfectly stitched together.
