Liu Xinzhi's perspective
Time went back to when she and Sister Mu had just returned to their room. After their conversation with Yi Chen ended, he had left behind only a cigarette butt on the balcony.
Just as the two of them were discussing whether to go to the Banquet Hall and join forces with the other potential Fujies, or stay in the dormitory and watch how things unfolded, a violent impact rang out.

Clattering sounds came from between the layers of the ceiling, as if something had already invaded the inner hull.

At Mu's call, Liu Xinzhi immediately ducked over. The two of them sat at the head of the bed beneath a shared umbrella.
The strange sounds were everywhere. They had already reached the vicinity of their room, moving through areas inside the walls—the sewers, ventilation ducts, and so on—and they were drawing closer.
