Skills That Increased Physical Attributes
Yang Bo had come out, and Tiger-Face King received the news as well. However, Tiger-Face King no longer dared to casually send anyone after him.
Yang Bo had left Tiger-Face King with psychological scars. Three times: the first time, he lost the most advanced Biological Mecha; the second time, the hunting team suffered devastating losses; the third time, three of Blood Bat's men were killed, and Blood Bat himself was seriously injured. Just like that, one of his top generals was gone.
Tiger-Face King also suspected that one of his subordinates might have defected to the Government Army. It would not have been unprecedented.
"Hold your positions and keep watch." Tiger-Face King finally issued the order. He would play it safe for now. Besides, Yang Bo had brought more bombs this time than last time.
Yang Bo alone was nothing, even if there were a hundred of him. But with an Orbital Cannon tens of thousands of kilometers overhead, unless one was an A+ or even higher-level powerhouse with special abilities, they would be blasted to pieces in minutes.
"Soon, soon!" Tiger-Face King looked up at the sky. All he saw was stone, yet he seemed to see the Orbital Cannons and fleets tens of thousands of kilometers above being blasted into fragments.
"When the time comes, I'll repay those bastards double. Bastards." Tiger-Face King clenched his fists.
Yang Bo proceeded cautiously, turning his radar up to maximum and stopping every so often.
He was afraid someone might ambush him. If that happened, he would have to throw bombs while running for his life.
Watching Yang Bo behave like that, the people at the base found him rather sneaky-looking. They were very curious about him.
Yang Bo had caused trouble several times. Apart from the incident at the lake, the base had made major gains from the other two. Blood Bat's people had been blasted to pieces, but the base had recovered the remains. The base had plenty to study: Mutant genes, fragments of Mutant mechas, and, if necessary, they could even use Mutant genes to cultivate an identical person.
But there was little point, because memories could not be replicated—unless they captured one alive...
Yang Bo had also guessed that something like an Orbital Cannon was stationed high in the sky, but he was not afraid. Who could possibly know about his ability? After walking for more than ten minutes, Yang Bo's heart ached at the cost. Since he was entering the Mountainous Area, he did not walk. He activated his Rocket Pack and leaped from one mountaintop to another, so the mecha maintenance fees would definitely not be low.
Few people traveled this way. Many chose external flight equipment instead, shooting straight to their destination with a whoosh.
External equipment required game currency—Credit Points, that was.
A huge cave stood before him, nearly twenty meters in diameter. It was said to have once been the nest of a massive pack of Mutated Lizards, though the Mutated Lizards had later abandoned it.
Outside the cave entrance was a broad valley with barely any vegetation. It was said that the Mutated Lizards had trampled it for so long that no plants had grown there for many years.
He opened the map. The game developers had already explored much of this place, so Yang Bo gritted his teeth and walked in. Surely the developers would not screw him over.
The underground space was divided into several levels according to depth. One hundred to three hundred meters below ground was the first level, three hundred to five hundred meters was the second, and five hundred to seven hundred meters was the third. It was said the deepest parts reached over ten thousand meters, but the second level was already considered a dangerous zone, while the third was extremely dangerous.
The danger rating was measured against each individual player. In other words, based on Yang Bo's current stats, the developers had given him a recommendation.
"Only an idiot would go to the second level." Yang Bo carefully checked the map and found where the bats were located.
This Underground World was actually connected to the caves and mountain crevices Yang Bo had visited last time. The developers had used uncertain wording, as if all the Underground Passages across the entire planet might be interconnected.
"Damn it, this place actually interferes with radar detection." At first, Yang Bo had wondered why the developers seemed to have so few solutions for this Underground World.
Only after entering did he discover that his mecha radar had an extremely limited detection range and strength here. Straight passages were somewhat better, but in twisting, winding tunnels that rose and fell, the shortest detection range was only a few dozen meters.
"Damn it." Yang Bo had clearly seen a group of bats on the radar, but when he reached the spot, he found that they were below him. He turned back and kept walking, only to discover that he had gone around them again. Finally, just as he seemed about to reach them, there was only a crack a little over a meter wide that he could pass through.
"To hell with it." Yang Bo picked up a Shockwave Bomb and threw it straight into the crack.
Then he ran! Boom! A blast wave swept through the passage, accompanied by a deafening roar.
Sonic Control +1! Sonic Control +1! Camouflage +1!
A string of notifications flashed through Yang Bo's mind. Looking closely, he found that his Camouflage had increased by dozens of points? Yang Bo carefully checked the radar from earlier and discovered that there had been a group of Cave Lizards over there. They were underground creatures no more than half a meter long and were widely distributed throughout this underground space.
"This ability is great." Yang Bo had high expectations for Camouflage. He could now alter his muscles, so perhaps at higher levels, he could alter his bones, height, and so on.
Of course, Camouflage's greatest use was seeing through other people's camouflage. In an age of advanced technology, Yang Bo felt that the ability brought by Camouflage might be the most valuable one.
But overall, Yang Bo felt he had come out at a loss. Sonic Control had increased by less than a thousand points, while Shockwave Bombs were not cheap. More importantly, once he used one, the bats elsewhere would fly away.
"Looks like I still need to set a trap." Yang Bo felt that he still needed to lay out bait.
He first made a rough circuit of the area, chose a spot, then left the cave to find a larger creature. He would kill it and drag it inside. As long as he killed a batch at the start, just like fishing over there, he could maintain sustainable harvesting.
Yang Bo smacked a cow to death with a single blow from his Plasma Long Blade without even using his full strength. But the cow was less than two meters tall, while the mecha was eight meters tall and the blade was five meters long.
Charge +1!
Yang Bo had not expected the cow to grant this ability.
Whatever. He would do it first and think later. When it came to these cattle, Yang Bo killed bulls but not cows. There were quite a few of them here. He did not know what kind they were, but they were definitely not water buffalo or yellow cattle. They stood over two meters tall and had three horns on their heads. With their heads lowered, they looked like enormous steel forks.
Charge, Intermediate (11/100). The reason he killed eleven was to raise the skill to Intermediate.
"The reaction is so intense." Yang Bo felt as though the genes inside his body were burning, while the strength in his body was constantly being drained away.
He hurriedly logged out of the game, drank milk, and recharged.
Half an hour later, Yang Bo was somewhat dumbfounded, because this had consumed 50% of his battery. This was a newly replaced battery, and it held fifty thousand kilowatt-hours of electricity.
"Charge relies on my own strength to activate. Does that mean this skill increases physical attributes?" Yang Bo had a bold guess.
"A hundred thousand cows... Damn it, does this entire planet even have that many? And there are still vast dangerous zones."
"No, I need to raise cattle." Yang Bo hurriedly entered the game.
Someone might ask: how could wild cattle be raised? Was that not simple? Just kill all of their natural predators. At least within a large enough area, he needed to create a safe and comfortable environment for these cattle.
"Since cattle can grant abilities that increase physical attributes, what about other large animals?" Yang Bo stared at the radar with shining eyes.
