He let out a cold laugh, his voice ringing like iron. "My woman isn't yours to discipline, lowly Heavenly Dao. You want to punish her? Where does that leave the dignity of my Three Thousand Chaos Demon Gods?"
The Heavenly Dao's expression shifted repeatedly before it finally took a step back, its tone softening somewhat. "Since that is the case, Dao Companion, you may naturally deal with her yourself. But the Eye of Heavenly Punishment is the key object I wield to govern the Primordial World and judge cause and effect. Now that you have suppressed it, I ask that you return it, lest it affect the Form Transformation Tribulation of all living beings."
The words sounded polite, but every one of them trembled.
It was afraid.
Though it was the Heavenly Dao, in control of all laws, in essence it was merely a "system" that had awakened sentience. It feared death, feared complete annihilation, and feared even more that no one would be there to collect its corpse after it died. It did not believe the Great Dao would turn against Su Yang for its sake.
Hate? Of course it hated him enough to grind its teeth. But what could it do?
