Background and History

Li Xunming was raised in Tongyang County by his father, Li Xingtian, and his mother, Li Xingtian’s eighteenth concubine. His mother rarely let him go out because she feared for his safety. At his spiritual-root test, Li Qianqing identified his Wind Spiritual Root—the first Variant Spiritual Root recorded in the Li Clan—and took charge of his instruction 218 219 253.

Under Li Qianqing’s guidance, Xunming advanced rapidly while seeking more freedom to explore. His permission to travel widened with his cultivation: first beyond Changqing Mountain, then beyond Xiangshui Prefecture. After establishing his foundation, he continued taking journeys for experience while carrying out clan duties 229 253 267 273.

As a Foundation Establishment cultivator, he intervened against plunderers at Caolong County’s Cultivator Market and pursued their organizer, Yang Xiusheng. Later, his successful Core Formation strengthened the Li Clan’s position and was celebrated by its subordinate forces 274 276 368 369.

He subsequently served at Li Yue City and attempted Nascent Soul. After his first attempt failed, he traveled farther afield and succeeded at Treasure Gathering Mountain. He later returned to the clan with his wife, Ling Shujing 513 527 538 556.

Personality

Xunming is playful and strongly drawn to travel, but takes cultivation and clan obligations seriously. Li Qianqing observed that he could distinguish important matters from minor ones; Xunming also saved his unused Foundation Establishment Pill for the clan rather than take the safer route for himself 219 267.

He regularly shares the experiences and gains from his journeys with Li Qianqing. In danger, he is willing to retreat rather than overestimate his strength, and he cooperates with other cultivators when doing so improves his chances 317 434 457.
