Dragon Balls! Wishes! "Dragon Balls? Talot, do you know what these are?"
Gine noticed the change in how Talot referred to the orb and asked.
At the same time, she was deliberately changing the subject to ease the conflict between the two little ones.
Clearly, not only had Selari stopped being angry, but Bulma had as well. Blinking her large, curious eyes, she asked, "So this little orb is called a Dragon Ball, Big Brother?"
Bulma spoke first, and Selari followed up with a question. "Brother Talot, what are Dragon Balls? You look like you really care about them—like you're shocked."
Their attention and questions were exactly the effect Talot wanted.
He had seemingly mentioned the Dragon Balls in passing, but in truth, he had done so deliberately.
"Speaking of Dragon Balls, we have to go back to the Namekians. According to the information I know, not only do the Namekians possess extremely powerful Battle Power, but their race also possesses the ability to create Dragon Balls.
"If I hadn't seen this Dragon Ball, I would have thought it was nonsense. After all, something like Dragon Balls that can grant wishes shouldn't exist in this world!
"Now that I've seen one with my own eyes, I can be sure that this is a Dragon Ball. It was probably created by the Namekian God at Kami's Lookout."
Talot paused at that point.
"You mean this little orb called a Dragon Ball can grant people's wishes?" Gine cried out in surprise.
Selari also looked at the Dragon Ball in Bulma's hand again in disbelief.
That frightened Bulma. Thinking Selari was going to snatch it, she hurriedly clutched the Dragon Ball to her chest and muttered, "No one can take my toy."
As the young miss of Capsule Corporation, Bulma had had whatever she wanted from the moment she was born. No one could ever take her things from her.
That was why she was so domineering about such matters.
Selari rolled her eyes and looked displeased, while Talot didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"As far as I know, there are seven Dragon Balls in total. Each Dragon Ball has a different number of stars inside it. Gather all seven, and you can summon Shenron, who can grant wishes. The one in little Bulma's hand should be the Two-Star Dragon Ball." As he spoke, Talot fell into thought again.
He had naturally brought up the Dragon Balls. In any case, he could attribute all his information to Planet Vegeta, which had already exploded.
"Is that true? Talot, where did you get all this information?" Gine asked again in astonishment.
Talot's knowledge of Namekians and Dragon Balls—no, there was more besides that...
More than half a year had passed since they left Planet Vegeta, and only now did Gine realize that Talot was completely different from how she had known him before.
Talot was still Talot, but he knew far more than she did as an adult.
She had clearly experienced more than he had and had certainly visited no small number of planets, yet she knew nothing.
For a moment, Gine began to look at Talot differently.
A strange feeling suddenly arose in her—she wanted to know just how much more Talot knew.
Or rather, how many things was he still hiding from her?
"I only happened to learn some information about the Namekians. I got curious at the time, so I looked through some records," Talot evaded Gine's question.
Hearing this, Gine said nothing more, but that did not mean she wasn't thinking about it.
Talot knew this was unavoidable. Rather than explain too much, it was better to brush it off.
Thinking of it, Talot recalled the plotline of the Dragon Ball Minus timeline. The Saiyans had actually known about the Namekians long ago. Bardock had even come into contact with the Dragon Balls on Cyril Star and wished to Shenron that his sons would grow up healthy.
As for whether those events had happened in this world, Talot did not know.
Still, when Talot had first learned of that storyline, he had wondered whether it was because of that wish that Kakarot and Raditz had grown up safely.
Then, when Raditz came to Earth, the wish granted by Shenron came into conflict with some irresistible force, and in the end, they could only perish together.
Of course, no one knew the truth.
"So as long as we gather all seven Dragon Balls, any wish can come true?!" Bulma suddenly spoke, changing the atmosphere again.
She was obviously still young. Though highly intelligent, the first thing she thought of was not the other information Talot had mentioned, but the Dragon Balls themselves, which had sparked immense interest in her.
Talot was quite satisfied with her reaction, because his real purpose had been to let her learn about the Dragon Balls' wish-granting power ahead of time.
Given Bulma's personality, she would probably soon find a way to search for the other Dragon Balls.
After all, the temptation of having wishes granted was simply too great.
Not only for Bulma, but for Gine and Selari as well.
"If Dragon Balls really can summon Shenron to grant wishes, then could we wish for Planet Vegeta to return to how it was?" Selari's sudden question made both Talot and Gine freeze.
The two of them looked at Selari at the same time and saw a trace of melancholy in her expression.
In their eyes, Planet Vegeta truly was Selari's homeland—her home.
Even after half a year had passed, she still found it difficult to forget that attachment.
"Even if wishes can be granted, a wish that outrageous would probably be difficult to fulfill, wouldn't it?" Gine felt that it was unrealistic.
Talot continued, "Maybe we can try, though I also think it's unlikely. But I have another thought. With the Dragon Balls, even if Uncle Bardock and Raditz and the others have met with trouble, we might be able to summon Shenron and wish to save them."
That had been his plan from the beginning. As for whether Earth's Shenron could do it, they would have to try and find out.
After trying every wish, regardless of whether it worked, he would proceed with his own plan.
Gine and Selari's expressions changed at the same time after hearing Talot's words.
Gine, especially, suddenly became a little excited.
This was another new hope. She understood what Talot meant—perhaps Shenron, summoned by the Dragon Balls to grant wishes, could even bring the dead back to life.
So now, they had even less reason to worry.
"Still, Earth is so vast. Finding the Dragon Balls won't be easy. If there were some kind of device that could detect their locations, then..." The guiding words fell into their ears. Gine and Selari understood, because it was very similar to a Battle Power Detector.
The only difference was that a Battle Power Detector detected the presence of living beings and measured their strength.
Bulma frowned deeply. After struggling with the thought for a long while, she seemed to have come up with something and immediately hugged the Dragon Ball before jogging up to the second floor.
She had probably gone to her room to study it.
