Background / History

Raditz grew up on Planet Vegeta as Bardock and Gine's eldest son and Kakarot's older brother. As a child, he was considered a promising Elite Warrior candidate, with talent and diligence that set him apart from his peers. King Vegeta ordered him to serve alongside Prince Vegeta, a command Bardock could not refuse. 1 6 14

Before departing on his first off-world mission, Raditz trained under Bardock alongside Talot and Selari. Bardock also entrusted him with responsibility for the family's safety. Raditz subsequently left Planet Vegeta with Vegeta's squad, serving as part of the expedition to Planet Rump. 13 14 16 18

Following Planet Vegeta's destruction, Raditz remained with Vegeta and Nappa. His lack of growth led the others to treat him as a burden, assigning him cleanup work and regarding him as expendable. An upper-class Saiyan died saving him during an invasion, worsening his insecurity and isolation. 83

Talot and Selari found Raditz on Dadalaer Planet and revealed that Gine and Kakarot had survived. After learning that Frieza had destroyed Planet Vegeta, Raditz abandoned Vegeta and Nappa to join Talot's group and pursue genuine strength. 83 84
