Fine footsteps slowly spread from the entrance of the mall.
Lu Sheng walked in front, with Tang En following behind to cover the rear. Both held flashlights, sweeping them around from time to time.
All around the first-floor hall, rows of shops lay in ruins. The tiled floor was strewn with all kinds of goods and trash bags.
In some places, faint bloodstains could still be seen.
"Be careful not to look people in the face right away. As long as you don't alarm them, these anomalies generally aren't very dangerous," Tang En reminded him.
"Just focus on protecting yourself. You don't need to worry about me," Lu Sheng said casually.
He walked along the wall for a while, then quickly rummaged through a shop and found two pairs of sunglasses, tossing one to Tang En.
"Put these on."
"Not bad." Tang En let out a breath of relief. "Wearing sunglasses in a place this dark... I guess this is the only time something like that would make sense."
"Be careful. There's a side passage here. We'll split up. If you run into anyone, use this to contact me." Lu Sheng found two walkie-talkies in another electronics shop and tossed one to Tang En.
"Put the batteries in yourself. There's a whole pile over there." Lu Sheng pointed at the counter of the electronics shop.
"We'll meet back here in a while?" Tang En asked.
"No. If we don't find anything, go straight up to the second floor. Of course, if you're scared, you can wait for me here. Just remember to stay in contact." Lu Sheng sounded utterly unconcerned.
"Are you looking down on me? I may not be as strong as you, but I've got plenty of guts!" Tang En's face reddened slightly.
"Fine. Let's begin." Lu Sheng
