"Void Tide?" Lu Sheng shot the other side a surprised glance. Though there were many of those eyeless freaks outside, each of them gave off a very weak aura. Against Mark and his three elite disciples, they were not even in the same league. A casual slap could kill one.
Yet the term Void Tide spoken by the other side inexplicably caught his attention.
"This is bad—it's actually a Void Tide!" Mark came to his senses as well. Without waiting for Lu Sheng to ask, he quickly explained.
"Teacher, a Void Tide is when huge numbers of monsters appear at intervals to attack camps and Gathering Places. At times like this, every monster capable of taking shape in reality will join this war."
"They attack camp strongholds?" Lu Sheng frowned. "How intense is it?"
Mark shook his head. "I don't know either, but those people across from us seem to know quite a lot."
"Ken, go hold them off." Lu Sheng turned to look at Ken, who had set down his bowl.
"Yes, Teacher." Ken bared his teeth in a grin and strode toward the city gate.
The Eyeless Ones were already crowding across the stone bridge and charging this way.

A rapid burst of gunfire suddenly rang out.
A barrage of machine-gun bullets erupted from beside the campfire on the opposite side. The bullets formed an unbroken chain of fire, endlessly slicing through the Eyeless Ones.
For a moment, flesh and blood flew everywhere, and screams rose one after another.
Large numbers of Eyeless One corpses tumbled off the stone bridge, yet they showed no fear at all. Instead, their eyes turned redder as they charged harder toward the city gate.
