The eagle-headed man paused, then continued with a smile. "You may call me Gray Liquid Wizard Gerrard. Call these things whatever you like. We are not True Spirits, so we have no taboos regarding true names."
"All right." Lu Sheng understood.
"Now, please come with me." Gerrard turned around and took a step forward. Billows of gray vapor rose up, circling him as he instantly crossed a vast stretch of river water and flew toward the shore.
Lu Sheng stamped his foot and rose into the air as well, following behind Gerrard.
The two soon landed on a riverbank not far away.
There were honeycomb-like caves along the riverbank. Gerrard pointed at one cave glowing with a natural, gentle white light.
"Enter through here, and you will reach our branch."
"A branch? Are there many of you?" Lu Sheng narrowed his eyes.
"People? If you prefer calling us that, then yes, there are quite a few of us. But compared to the two great factions of Nothingness and Existence, our numbers are far too few."
Gerrard introduced things as he walked inside.
"Most of our brethren live within the Gray Liquid Tower. The Gray Liquid Tower is a system separate from the Mother River. It has nine levels in total, and every level contains a great number of universes of different energy grades. The universes there differ from those of the Mother River system. You will understand that in time."
"Where are we going now?"
"To meet the branch manager. You are a newly born controller of Gray Liquid Power. Believe me, meeting him will benefit you," Gerrard explained.
"Then why were you looking for me?" Lu Sheng asked again. He did not believe in free lunches. Every act of goodwill necessarily had its own purpose.
