"The Primal Sea? What's in it?"

"Nothing?"
"That's right. The so-called Primal Sea is merely the primordial state before Meta-Space formed. I once entered it to evade the Great Cycle. There was nothing there—no life, no matter, no energy, no rules. Sometimes, after entering, it felt as though you had merely taken a nap. You could not even tell that you had been inside," Stone Mother said softly.
"Because perception needs something to serve as a reference point?" Lu Sheng asked.
"Yes. Because you cannot sense anything, including your own time and space. You cannot see, hear, smell, or touch. You cannot even imagine it," Stone Mother sighed.
"Then how did you know you had entered it?" Lu Sheng pressed.
"Because any existence that enters leaves a mark upon itself. A very peculiar trace." Stone Mother gently pulled open the shoulder armor on her right shoulder. Upon that flawless, fair, delicate skin was a pale green mark resembling a birthmark.
The mark had no particular shape, merely an ordinary irregular outline. Its color was so faint that it was almost impossible to see without looking closely.
"All the forces of things we have ever perceived were in fact derived from a blend of the Three Ultimate Engines, ourselves included. Thus, all existence is affected by the Three Ultimate Powers and cannot escape them."
Stone Mother gently put her shoulder armor back on.
"And there is only one way to truly escape that influence."
"Enter the Primal Sea?" Lu Sheng mused.
