Although the entire Northern Continent was in a state of war, as the New Year approached, apart from the few cities where the two armies were locked in a tug-of-war, there were still some signs of the holiday.
The war on the front lines seemed to have eased slightly. There were even rumors that the countries would temporarily cease hostilities during the New Year.
Yet in Queens, Backlund, there was barely any sign of the war's impact. Or rather, the lives of nobles had never changed because of war.
Hobart looked at the duke's manor, decorated with lanterns and festoons, but felt none of the New Year spirit.
Glancing at the clock, he saw that it was already 2:50 in the afternoon. Hobart told the servants outside not to disturb him, no matter what.
After locking the door from the inside, he lay down on the bed and prepared to attend the Tarot Club gathering.
Staring at the ceiling, Hobart quickly reviewed what had happened over the past week. First, Fors had advanced to Sequence 5, Traveler. Since she had previously been recording unique customs everywhere, she had already digested part of the Traveler potion.
Second, Hobart had completely mastered the Trensoost Empire. Even if Trensoost himself appeared now, he would not be able to approach the ship.
In addition, South Baylam had completed its land reform. The farmers who had received land could still rush to plant another season of crops, and many of them were highly motivated to cultivate their fields.
However, many others remained as passive as before. They still did not quite trust the duchy government and were continuing to wait and see.
Also, Hobart had received definite intelligence that Trensoost had appeared in Gurain, a northern city on the Southern Continent, and attacked a Loen
