Tyrone's scream cut through the rain-soaked village night, sounding utterly shrill.
He had personally seen the Mark Couple collapse in a pool of blood. He and Melissa had even carried the two corpses into the neighboring farmhouse.
How had those two bodies, their faces terribly mutilated, suddenly appeared at the doorway?
Yet the "Mark Couple" seemed not to have heard Tyrone's scream. They walked around the makeshift bed made of door panels, entered the inner room, and sat facing each other at the table, like two diners waiting for their food at a restaurant.
Tyrone took a deep breath and calmed down slightly.
Only then did he realize that Hobart was nowhere to be seen. Melissa was the only one on the other side.
Tyrone hurriedly shook Melissa awake, pointed toward the inner room, and made a silencing gesture.
Melissa was equally startled by the scene inside. Like Tyrone, she hurried to look for Hobart. However, as her gaze swept over the wall, she froze while staring at the mirror hanging there.
The next second, Melissa patted Tyrone and had him immediately look toward the mirror.
Tyrone saw that neither he nor Melissa was reflected in it. In the mirror, only Hobart was still lying on the door-panel bed by the entrance.
"Did I scare you?" Suddenly, Hobart in the mirror vanished as well and appeared beside them.
The fear in Tyrone's heart immediately lessened. "Brother, what's going on?"
As Hobart sat up, he said, "Someone tampered with you and turned you into people of the Mirror World. If you aren't careful, you'll enter the Mirror World."
