The Babel Tower carrying Beckett and the others slowly descended.
With one captive in each hand, Beckett flung the two prisoners out of the Babel Tower, then slowly walked toward his adoptive father Thanos under his watchful gaze.
"Welcome back, child."
"Father, the mission is complete." Beckett respectfully bowed to Thanos. Behind him, the two prisoners who had been thrown from the Babel Tower looked at each other, momentarily unsure what they should say. Diana especially was already a cripple waiting to die.
"Well done." Thanos did not ask where Beckett's original warship had gone. He had no interest whatsoever in such tedious details. What he saw was that his son Beckett had once again flawlessly completed the task he had assigned, bringing a lively target before him.
"Woooah, why am I floating?!"
Having put away the bottle of liquor he had found in the Babel Tower upon seeing Thanos, Astra had not even had time to speak before he discovered that his body was flying uncontrollably toward Thanos.
"Beckett, who is that woman?"
Ebony Maw, who was using magic to suspend Astra in midair, glanced at the wary-looking Diana and asked.
"Just an insignificant nobody. No need to care."
"Could you put me down before we talk? Being stuck in midair like this is really uncomfortable." With his feet off the ground, Astra was beginning to panic. He interrupted Ebony Maw and Beckett's conversation, though his gaze was fixed on Thanos, who stood with his hands behind his back.
Astra knew that Thanos was the true master here.
"I admire your courage, Astra." Thanos waved a hand, signaling Ebony Maw to put him down. Regaining his freedom, Astra stood beside Beckett and let out a long breath, once again savoring the feeling of solid ground beneath his feet.
"Thank
