Gazing into the darkness beneath the stairs, Anvis did not hurry in. Instead, he raised a hand and summoned a flame, guiding it into the darkness below.
The tiny orange flame floated half a meter above the ground, drifting forward at an unhurried pace. Its faint glow drove back the darkness, revealing a string of delicate footprints in the dust.
Though the flame was sustained by Mana, it would still go out if it entered an environment with foul air.
"It hasn't gone out. That means there must be a vent somewhere in the passage below. And someone passed through here just now."
