Watching the cell door open on its own and the Magic-Sealing Shackles fall away from his body, Anvis sighed.
Even without thinking about it, it was obvious that the Speaker had deliberately arranged these layer upon layer of prison cells and blood transmission Magic Arrays in order to use Landon's blood to accomplish some unspeakable plan and purpose.
Then, as if he had finally noticed something was amiss, Anvis looked Landon over in apparent "surprise."
"Mm, wait... Landon, your strength is?!"
"My apologies, Vio Your Excellency, but my current strength involves certain secrets of mine, so it would be inconvenient to explain too much."
Faced with Anvis's question, Landon shook his head apologetically.
"Moreover, the rules of this place are strange. Even with my current strength, I can't destroy the magic-sealing prison while ensuring your safety, so I had no choice but to unlock it using the method provided by the Speaker.
"I don't want to gamble with your lives, Vio Your Excellency. But you needn't worry too much about me. I have my own way of resisting Curses."
"Since you understand the danger as well, I won't say any more."
Anvis nodded and slowly stepped out of the Magic-Sealing Shackles that had fallen to the ground. At the same time, a powerful mana fluctuation spread from his body.
"Sorry, Landon. There's something I've been hiding from you. For certain reasons, I concealed my true strength before. I'm not actually Fourth Rank—I'm Seventh Rank.
"Although it's hardly worth mentioning compared to your strength, I shouldn't hold you back
