"Did it work?"
Seeing the changes on the ground, the Royal Guardians suspended in midair showed no surprise. Instead, they immediately observed the changes in Oni Chaos.
The King of Annihilation's avatar was merely a projection of power guided by the Book of Yellow Robe and possessed no physical body, but Oni Chaos's sub-body was different.
As an avatar sub-body, Oni Chaos's sub-body could continue to exist even after being severed from the main body, proving that it possessed a high degree of independence.
And that independence meant that this sub-body of Oni Chaos had a tangible existence, rather than being a mere projection of power.
Killing Magical Beasts yielded corresponding materials. Naturally, killing a god's sub-body would as well.
The remains of an existence at this level were themselves an embodiment of rules.
Especially since it had remained connected to its main body for a brief moment. The Magic Array laid out by Gray Mist had drawn upon the Dream World's restorative power to forcibly sever that connection, inadvertently leaving a trace of a higher-level "rule imprint" from its main body trapped within it.
And that turned it into a "mimic chest" that any Ninth Rank would go mad for.
At this moment, Oni Chaos's avatar and the King of Annihilation's projection had both noticed the suppressive effect of the Magic Array on the ground, but their attention remained fixed firmly on each other, and neither paid much heed to the array.
To them, before a powerful enemy of the same level, mortals who were like ants were not worth their attention.
Even though the repeated weakening had narrowed the gap between those ants and them, ants were still ants. Unless they took that step, they could never truly threaten them.
Gray Mist, who was maintaining the Magic Array,
