The tourists who had emerged from the Lockdown Hall were still not allowed to leave the city. A single round of screening was not enough to put anyone at ease.

Given their status, coercive measures were difficult to justify. To keep them calm, the authorities moved them to a residence not far from the Lockdown Hall, equipped with high-level security, and provided them with premium service.

After a night of excitement and terror, they were mentally exhausted, even with drugs and implant bodies supporting them physically. They guessed what Central City intended, but none of them argued.

Fortunately, the residence did not prevent them from contacting the outside world. As soon as they arrived, they each contacted their private lawyers and trusted aides.

Kapa was also assigned a room. He knew perfectly well that this was simply another cage. Until the incident at the Lockdown Hall was resolved, Central City would never let them leave.

For now, however, he was in no danger of being discovered.

That was because he had left the vast majority of his mutated tissue in his cell. The body he occupied now contained only a tiny portion of it.

Whether someone entered the cell to inspect it or observed it through the domain field, the conclusion would be that he had never left. After all, the more than ninety percent of his mutated tissue remaining there did indeed represent an almost complete version of him.

Yet one of the defining traits of a Throne Fighter was that even a small remnant of a limb or mutated tissue could be activated to restore their original body.

The fact that this part of him had escaped meant he already had one foot outside the cage.

Still, he was unwilling to abandon the rest of his mutated tissue.
