Packed and Ready to Return

Chen Chuan stayed on Red Crown Island for two days. He learned more from He Ruihai and He Zhilan, and also found out which company had been targeting them.

It was An Tan Company.

Wherever there was war or conflict, that company was sure to have a hand in it. No wonder the two had survived years of pursuit and could still move around freely, yet could never shake the company entirely. It had too many factions within it, and those factions often sold their own intelligence to their rivals.

The company was active in the Great Shun Kingdom, too. Its business covered almost everything: intelligence, arms, mercenary work, smuggling, drugs, and Implant Bodies. Many forces at home dealt with it. He Ruihai and He Zhilan knew that, which was why they had never returned to the country.

Once Chen Chuan had the general picture, he said nothing, but kept the matter in mind. The two had not told him the name of the supervisor involved, but it would not be hard for him to find out.

The year was nearly over. Besides his official duties, he needed to go home and take care of a few things. Two days later, he packed his belongings and said goodbye to He Ruihai and He Zhilan.

Before he left, not only the two of them but many students came to see him off, bringing him plenty of local specialties.

The island village had little scenery to speak of, but its people were honest, openhearted, and warm to guests. He could understand why He Ruihai and He Zhilan did not want to leave.

The two walked Chen Chuan out, all the way to the tree where he had arrived. There, he stopped and said, "Please stop here, both of you. There's no need
