Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| First–Second Limit | 265 452 | Common levels among military-trained and independent mercenary Fighters; Second Limit combatants may possess reinforced bodies and implanted organs. |
| Third Limit | 317 | Mutated Tissue develops gradually; strengthening tissue produces a natural degree of cerebral alienation. |
| Fighter / Bearing Profound Secrets | 557 768 773 | By breaking the shackles of the human body, the spirit can directly influence reality. The Great White Realm Temple calls this realm Bearing Profound Secrets; it is also identified as the Fourth Limit. |
| Longevity Observation Realm | 941 | Reached after completing the Connecting Heaven Bridge; a Spirit Aspect can then generate its own Spiritual Fire rather than relying on the main body. |
| Profound Cave Observation | 1094 | Greatly strengthens a Fighter’s self-existence; even residual flesh and blood may re-form into an independently fighting body. |
| Throne Fighter | 1159 1289 | A top-tier designation whose unrestrained members can threaten entire regions; multiple Throne Fighters are considered sufficient to devastate more than half the world’s countries. |
Origin and Nature
Fighters tend to emerge in large numbers during historical Periods of Change, eras marked by upheaval and frequent dynastic shifts. Conversely, the Period of Cold Isolation was a low point for Fighters and a period of more stable dynastic rule. Old Era methods for reaching this state were dangerous and unreliable, with failure usually meaning death. 377
Mutated Tissue is the physical foundation of a Fighter’s development. It grows gradually over time rather than appearing suddenly, and at the Third Limit its growth begins to affect the brain. 317
The decisive transition occurs when the spirit rises high enough to draw a small amount of power from the Other Side World. That power tempers the spirit until it acquires compatible qualities; only then can one begin the path to becoming a Fighter. 557 The completed breakthrough is a qualitative transformation of both body and spirit rather than a mere increase in physical strength. 767 768
“Once a Fighter breaks the shackles binding them, they cross the limits of the human body and enter an entirely new realm.”
— Chen Bitong 557
Abilities & Characteristics
Spirit Sense and Mental Power
A Fighter can use their spirit to exert direct influence on reality without relying on physical force. This is the manifestation of Mental Power known as Spirit Sense power. 557
- Spirit Sense is generated naturally after the breakthrough, rather than borrowed from the Other Side through a guiding method. 768
- Each Fighter’s Spirit Sense carries a personal imprint and becomes inseparable from their individual heart force. 768
- Mental Power is a major component of a Fighter’s combat ability; losing access to it can remove at least half of their effective strength. 986
- Advanced spiritual capability may allow a Fighter to cross weakened barriers and rifts between worlds. 767
Bio-Field
A Bio-Field is a defensive layer emitted by a Fighter’s vigorous life force. It normally exists without deliberate control as long as its owner remains alive. 769
- It is difficult for ordinary thermal weapons to penetrate. 769
- Lower-level Fighters may be unable to damage a sufficiently strong Bio-Field even when attacking without restraint. 769
- When Fighters clash, their Bio-Fields are usually the first defenses to collide. 769
- A Fighter can use their field to conceal themselves and prevent weaker people from seeing or hearing them. 850
True Force / Spiritual Fire
The self-generated power within a Fighter’s Bio-Field is called Embracing Oneness True Force, Spiritual Fire, or Essence Force. 769
- True Force contains its owner’s willpower and unique force. 769
- Forcing it into an opponent can damage bodily tissue and suppress the regeneration of Mutated Tissue. 769
- Spiritual Fire is vital for external protection; a Spirit Aspect without its own Spiritual Fire is at a severe combat disadvantage. 941
- Spiritual Fire can be concentrated into a thin, destructive line for precise long-range attacks when the target is locked onto mentally. 805
Combat Insight and Self-Created Methods
Fighters can comprehend the underlying functions of techniques and reshape them into methods suited to themselves. Nearly every Fighter ultimately develops a distinct personal path. 785
- Linked forms improve the efficiency and quantity with which Mutated Tissue and Mental Power can be mobilized. 873
- In combat, Fighters can read the direction and likely result of an opponent’s exertion of force at a glance. 900
- Their effectiveness depends heavily on personal cultivation, combat experience, technique, and available resources rather than on rank alone. 768 873 1059
Cultivation Paths
Aspect of Man
Aspect of Man Fighters preserve the original self and maintain relatively balanced body-and-spirit development. 833 1230
- They have no obvious inherent weakness; this can make them either unremarkable or exceptionally formidable. 1230
- They are the least vulnerable to mutational contamination among the major paths. 1476
- Their strength lies in continued growth of body and spirit together, relying on superior speed and force rather than indirect abilities. 1499
Variant Appearance
For Variant Appearance Fighters, the transformed outer form and the body are fundamentally one. 1030
- Their powers are shaped by the gods, demons, or creatures they visualize during cultivation. 1030 1384
- They possess Exotic Powers, which may provide decisive abilities but can carry strict conditions or costs. 1321
- Their transformations can enhance physical abilities and expand the range of their fields. 788
Aspect of the Gods
Aspect of the Gods Fighters prioritize continuity of consciousness rather than preserving their original physical form. 833
- At high levels, they can discard their physical shell and change bodies. 833
- They are well-suited to reconnaissance, harassment, escape, rearguard duties, and dispersal tactics. 1476
- Their Divine Energy may separate from the main body in attempts to survive lethal damage. 1232
Limitations and Risks
- Continued communication with the Other Side exposes Fighters to contamination that can gradually transform them toward mutation. 1013
- Contamination is especially dangerous around rifts and within the Convergence Zone. 1013
- A Fighter’s transformation after breaking through varies by individual; ordinary cases may last only two or three days. 783
- Spiritual Fire, advanced forms, and sustained combat consume substantial energy, making medicine, nutrients, and logistical support essential to many Fighters’ development. 381 873
- An External Implant Body can supplement Mutated Tissue and improve force output, but it is optional equipment rather than an inherent Fighter ability. 615
Social and Political Role
Fighters serve governments, corporations, military forces, martial factions, and mercenary organizations. Independent Fighters often reject formal restrictions and accept contract work from companies or governments. 452
- Major companies cultivate their own Fighters through extensive resource investment and layered selection. 732
- Old Era martial schools have evolved into political factions that use force to advance their ideals and influence politics, economics, and military affairs. 909
- Fighter identities and records are typically highly classified because they concern both national interests and personal security. 793 942
- A Central City normally stations only one or two Fighters, reflecting their strategic value. 942
- Governments and corporations assign internationally known Fighters influence ratings; influence does not directly equal combat power, but it affects political confidence and markets. 1095 1169
- Officially sanctioned duels are protected by international agreements: a Fighter whose match is obstructed may retaliate, seek compensation, issue a challenge, or request Fighter Council arbitration. 1165
