  • Chen Chuan left the booth as his Second Self grew more solid and noted that enrollment was the next day.

Ch. 22The List

At the university, instructors discussed how powerful families controlled scholarships and assessment opportunities, leaving Gao Shi to review the list despite expecting it to be altered.

Ch. 24Mutual Aid Society

Chen Chuan received his provisional student ID and learned that Wu Yi University’s Mutual Aid Society offered exam help in exchange for agreements that could bind students to powerful backers. After Gao Ming explained the society’s practices and the university’s nearly inaccessible funding, Chen Chuan resolved to rely on his own ability to pass the second-round exam.

  • Chen Chuan registered at Wu Yi University, received a provisional student ID, and decided to postpone moving into a dorm until after the second-round exam.

Ch. 25Confrontation

Ch. 28Knowing Myself

Chen Chuan strengthened his training for the Wu Yi University retest, learned grappling techniques, and followed Yu Gang’s advice to regain control of his improving body. Two days before the retest, he encountered Wei Dong, a fellow applicant, and defeated him in a rooftop match before they agreed to meet at Wu University.
