Background / History

Reputation and the Chaos Heaven Ambush

Fu Can built his reputation by ambushing a Ninth-Rank, Third-Realm Immortal Emperor descending from Chaos Heaven. After detecting activity at the entrance, he waited there for more than a century. His attack destroyed the emperor’s physical body, but the Immortal Soul escaped back into Chaos Heaven. Fu Can obtained the emperor’s blood for cultivation, and the encounter made his name famous throughout the Immortal Realm 263 324.

Although observers describe this feat as killing a descending Immortal Emperor, Fu Can’s own recollection establishes that the victim survived as an Immortal Soul 263 324.

First Clash with the Azure Emperor

Chongshan Demon Emperor summoned Fu Can’s clone through a skull token while fighting Xue Yousheng inside an Emperor-grade Sumeru Token World. The clone overwhelmed Xue Yousheng’s resistance and severely injured both him and the Dark Hall Master 232.

Li Zhōujūn sent a clone into the sealed world to rescue them, introducing himself as the Azure Emperor. Fu Can countered his lightning and chessboard techniques with demonic manifestations of the Four Symbols. Their exchanges ended in draws, and both clones dissipated after exhausting their power 233 234.

Full-Body Rematch

Believing the Azure Emperor’s cultivation had fallen to Ninth-Rank, Second Realm, Fu Can challenged him and surrounded him and Little Grass Immortal with a vast skeleton army. Li Zhōujūn then displayed power matching Fu Can’s Ninth-Rank, Third-Realm cultivation 261 262.

Fu Can escalated from direct attacks to the Demon Buddha Dharma Aspect, its Sanskrit chants, and finally Three Thousand Demon Buddhas. None secured victory. After Li Zhōujūn matched his ultimate attack, Fu Can withdrew while questioning the Azure Emperor’s origins 262 263.

Yan Siman and the Secret Technique

Fu Can encountered Yan Siman, one of his sworn enemies, after she had used a cultivation-boosting secret technique for the third time. He shattered her law attacks and defeated her in one move with the Four Demonic Aspects, without using Three Thousand Demon Buddhas 282.

Yan Siman gave him the secret technique in hopes that he would use it against the Azure Emperor. On discovering that three uses would cause death, Fu Can threw away its jade slip—then reconsidered and picked it up. He later carried it as an emergency trump card 282 289 331.

East Yue Mountain Expedition

Seeking a path beyond the Emperor Realm, Fu Can ordered Mo Yi to investigate the wounded figure who had fallen from Chaos Heaven after fighting Burial Heaven Immortal Emperor. Mo Yi located the figure at East Yue Mountain. Fu Can judged that the figure’s continued seclusion suggested incomplete recovery and decided the opportunity justified the risk 324.

Along the way, he rescued the injured Liu Yánchāng and gave him a medicinal pill. He subsequently joined Li Zhōujūn, killing the Chicken Demon tribe’s Ninth-Rank Demon Venerable ancestor with a slap before proposing that they travel together. His motive was practical: arriving alone might make him expendable while the Azure Emperor claimed the rewards 327 328 329.

Inside the mountain’s secret realm, Fu Can shattered a dark gold hand, while Li Zhōujūn destroyed the regenerating statue controlling it. They then cornered Eternal Cloud Saint, the injured figure from Chaos Heaven, and attacked him together. Fu Can withheld part of his strength to remain prepared against his temporary ally 330 331 332 333.

When Eternal Cloud Saint began self-destructing, Fu Can escaped through space. He was astonished when Li Zhōujūn emerged unharmed and admitted that the Azure Emperor’s presence gave him motivation to cultivate 334.

Later Encounters

As a Half-Saint, Fu Can protected Chongshan from the Death Language Demon Emperor with a Demonic Black Tortoise. He also killed Emperor Liuyuan with a Demonic White Tiger, refused to submit to the invading emperor, and ultimately fled rather than continue the confrontation 355.

Later, Dong Qiuyue trapped him inside an array formation treasure. Unable to leave, he fought her using a three-headed, six-armed demonic form whose severed arms regenerated through Demonic Qi 375.

At an entrance to Chaos Heaven, an old woman allowed Li Zhōujūn passage but told Fu Can to rely on his own strength. Fu Can attempted to persuade her that the Azure Emperor’s refusal to help was actually intended to temper him 390.

Appearance

  • Tall figure in black: His summoned clone appears intermittently within rolling Demonic Qi 232.
  • Black robes: During combat, his robes billow as Demonic Qi spreads outward from his body 330.
  • Disguise: He poses as an elderly Immortal Emperor to watch events involving the Nether Luo Ancient Clan, using the occasion to describe himself as stronger than the Azure and Profound Emperors 341.

Personality

Fu Can combines pride in his strength with a strong instinct for self-preservation. He claims to have crushed his peers since beginning cultivation and regards defeating a previous victor as a way to restore his “Invincible Heart.” Nevertheless, he readily retreats from threats such as Eternal Cloud Saint’s self-destruction and acknowledges that he would flee if the saint recovered his full strength 262 332 334.

His cooperation is calculated rather than trusting. He travels with the Azure Emperor to avoid taking all the risks alone and holds back during their joint battle in case Li Zhōujūn turns against him. His ambition extends beyond the Immortal Realm’s cultivation ceiling, driving him to investigate dangerous opportunities and seek instruction in formations 324 329 333.

He protects his own subordinates without extending that concern to everyone nearby. He rescues Liu Yánchāng but ignores the accompanying assassins, and he intervenes for Chongshan despite visible irritation with him 327 355.

Abilities & Skills

Four Symbols Demonic Transformation Art

Fu Can’s Emperor’s Law manifests demonic versions of the Azure Dragon, Vermilion Bird, White Tiger, and Black Tortoise 234 282.

  • A gigantic black tiger with scarlet eyes counters the Azure Emperor’s golden lightning 234.
  • The combined Four Demonic Aspects break Yan Siman’s law attacks and defeat her in one move 282.
  • The Black Tortoise blocks a palm strike aimed at Chongshan; the White Tiger kills Emperor Liuyuan 355.

Demon Buddha Dharma Aspect

A colossal black Demon Buddha seated on a black lotus manifests behind Fu Can 262.

  • Its Sanskrit chants can immediately induce inner demons and cause qi deviation 262.
  • Li Zhōujūn remains unaffected, prompting Fu Can to abandon the chants and switch attacks 262.
  • The aspect is required for Three Thousand Demon Buddhas to reach its full power 333.

Three Thousand Demon Buddhas

Fu Can’s strongest Spiritual Power summons three thousand Demon Buddha figures whose combined Demonic Qi produces a sky-covering black hand 263 333.

  • Used in the ambush that destroyed the descending Immortal Emperor’s physical body 263.
  • Matched by the Azure Emperor’s golden lightning during their rematch 263.
  • Operates at approximately ninety percent power without the Demon Buddha Dharma Aspect; Fu Can uses this reduced version against Eternal Cloud Saint while guarding against Li Zhōujūn 333.

Skeleton Army

By stomping the ground, Fu Can splits the earth and summons an apparently endless army of skeletons from various races, all radiating Demonic Qi 261.

  • Surrounds Li Zhōujūn and Little Grass Immortal 261.
  • Each skeleton’s aura is described as tens of times stronger than Chen Jiancheng’s 261.

Clones and Demonic Forms

  • Combat clone: His summoned clone possesses ordinary Ninth-Rank, Second-Realm strength, but cannot sustain itself indefinitely after repeated use of Emperor’s Law 233 234.
  • Three-headed, six-armed form: Produces countless fist imprints and regenerates severed arms through Demonic Qi 375.
  • Demonic palm attacks: Overwhelm weaker emperors and shatter the dark gold guardian’s hand 232 330.
  • Spatial escape: Tears through space to flee Eternal Cloud Saint’s impending self-destruction 334.

Formation Study

Fu Can describes himself as a beginner in formations and finds independent study too slow. He orders a search for Ghost Array Master as a prospective teacher, intending to compel him if necessary 324.

  • His raw strength is cited as sufficient to force through formations that ordinary Ninth-Rank, Third-Realm emperors would struggle to break 292.
  • No completed apprenticeship or advancement in formation mastery is documented 324.
  • Dong Qiuyue’s formation treasure successfully confines him during their confrontation 375.

Equipment / Items

  • Yan Siman’s secret-technique jade slip — A temporary power boost that consumes one-third of the user’s lifespan per activation; three uses are fatal. Fu Can retains it as a trump card, but no use by him is shown 289 331.
  • Medicinal pill — Given to Liu Yánchāng after his rescue 328.
  • Location jade slip — Supplied by Mo Yi with the address of the mysterious figure at East Yue Mountain 324.

Relationships

  • Li Zhōujūn / Azure Emperor — Rival and occasional ally. Their clone battle and full-body rematch end without a winner; they later cooperate against Eternal Cloud Saint while remaining wary of each other 234 263 329 333.
  • Chongshan Demon Emperor — Subordinate whom Fu Can repeatedly protects, first through a summoned clone and later against the Death Language Demon Emperor 232 234 355.
  • Mo Yi — Trusted subordinate cultivated by Fu Can; gathers intelligence and relays orders to regional Blood Slaughter Demon Halls 324.
  • Liu Yánchāng — Southern Dipper City branch master and devoted follower. Fu Can saves him, treats his injuries, and sees through his embellished account of fighting Li Zhōujūn 327 328.
  • Yan Siman — Sworn enemy whom he defeats decisively; she supplies the dangerous secret technique afterward 282 289.
  • Ghost Array Master — Prospective formation teacher whom Fu Can orders his organization to locate 324.
  • Eternal Cloud Saint — Target of Fu Can’s search for knowledge and an opportunity to advance beyond the Emperor Realm 324 331 332.
  • Dong Qiuyue / Burial Heaven Immortal Emperor’s clone — Opponent who confines him in a formation and cuts through his demonic form; Fu Can is particularly wary of her main body 375.
