Nature and Ascension
- The Immortal Realm possesses far denser spiritual energy than the Tian Yuan Realm; Li Zhōujūn finds its ambient energy several times richer upon arrival. 162
- Native mortals exist there and cultivate through the same foundational realms as lower-realm cultivators, with many natives born already at Qi Refinement or Golden Core. 167
- Most lower-realm cultivators ascend after surviving Lightning Tribulation and converting their spiritual energy into Immortal Spiritual Energy. True Immortals are nevertheless considered low-level cultivators after arriving. 85
- Ascension by the Immortal Realm's golden light refines an ascender's immortal body. Cultivators who retain their final trace of spiritual energy can remain in the lower realm, but do so at the cost of delaying ascent. 85
- A True Immortal who misses the golden-light reception can forcibly breach the world barrier, but this causes a major disturbance and leaves them vulnerable after expending power. 103
- Raiders from the Immortal Realm may wait at forcibly opened passages to prey on exhausted ascenders and seize their treasures; Daoist Ziyun is ambushed in this manner by the Sixth-Rank True Immortal Nether Ghost Daoist. 103
- Descending from the Immortal Realm to a lower realm is possible but extremely costly, while forcibly entering the Immortal Realm from below is comparatively easier. 69 103
Geography
Five Great Immortal Domains
| Domain | Common Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Xianzhong Domain | Central Continent | Contains the Dao Tian Immortal Palace. 167 |
| Xiannan Domain | Southern Continent | Contains Jade Sheng Domain, one of its countless small and medium-sized domains. 167 |
| Xianxi Domain | Western Continent | A desolate region where Demon Kingdoms dominate and humans have low status. 202 |
| Xianbei Domain | Northern Continent | One of the five great domains; a passage to Cangchen Immortal Realm is discovered here. 352 |
| Xiandong Domain | Eastern Continent | One of the five great domains. 167 |
- Each small or medium-sized domain can be as vast as an entire lower world, and the realm also contains innumerable scattered small continents. 163 167
- Even traveling at full speed without teleportation arrays, a True Immortal would require decades to travel from Jade Sheng Domain in the Southern Continent to the Central Continent. 167
- Mortal Domains are territories with exceptionally thin spiritual energy. They may result from devastating battles or natural conditions, and even True Immortals generally avoid remaining in them for long. 214
- The Immortal Relic Continent lies between the Southern and Eastern Continents. It was once used to exile cultivators of the Demonic Dao after their cultivation was crippled. 177
Cultivation System
| Realm | Associated title / notes |
|---|---|
| True Immortal | Ranked realm; ascenders commonly enter the Immortal Realm at this level. 85 162 |
| Heavenly Immortal | Realm above True Immortal. 167 |
| Profound Immortal | Also called Immortal Lord. 155 167 |
| Grand Unity Profound Immortal | Also called Immortal King. 155 |
| Golden Immortal | Also called Immortal Emperor in the recorded hierarchy. 155 |
| Grand Unity Golden Immortal | Also called Immortal Venerable. 155 |
| Great Luo Golden Immortal | Listed as a higher major realm in the Immortal Realm’s hierarchy. 155 |
- Cultivators may be further distinguished by ranks and realms within a major stage, such as Ninth-Rank, Third-Realm Immortal Emperors. 263
- The Immortal Realm lacks Chaos Qi; according to Eternal Cloud Saint, this prevents Immortal Emperors from advancing into the Saint Realm while remaining there. 332
- The gap between major realms is extreme: a Profound Immortal/Immortal Lord is described as insignificant before a Golden Immortal-level Immortal Emperor. 155
Major Powers
- Dao Tian Immortal Palace — A top Immortal Realm force based in the Central Continent. It maintains subordinate worlds, including the Tian Yuan Realm, and possesses a small world behind its mountain gate. 225 291 301
- Seven Great Ancient Clans — Powerful ancient clans of the Immortal Realm. The Nether Luo Ancient Clan is regarded as one of the strongest and most mysterious, ranking among the top three. 335
- Dragon Clan — A major force powerful enough that the Nether Luo Ancient Clan had historically avoided provoking it, though its influence later declined after the death of a peak Half-Saint Dragon Emperor. 335 337
- Demon Kingdoms of the Western Continent — The dominant powers in the west, where humans are comparatively scarce and disadvantaged. 202
- Lingyu Sect — A sect in Jade Sheng Domain whose True Immortal Elders seek to recruit newly ascended cultivators. 162
Inter-Realm Connections
| Connected world | Connection to the Immortal Realm |
|---|---|
| Lower realms | Cultivators ascend from lower worlds through golden-light reception or by breaking the world barrier; descending from the Immortal Realm is expensive. 69 85 103 |
| Tian Yuan Realm | A subordinate world under the Dao Tian Immortal Palace’s purview, though it is deliberately managed with minimal interference. 291 |
| Cangchen Immortal Realm | A spatial passage opens between it and the Eternal Immortal Realm in the Northern Continent. 352 353 |
| Chaos Heaven | A higher realm accessible through a mirror-like checkpoint; Immortal Emperors seek it because Chaos Qi is required for Saint Realm advancement. 332 |
| Hong Meng Realm classification | The Immortal Realm is classified as a Class B world, below Class A Chaos Heaven and above Class C mortal realms. 473 |
