Background / History

Lin Tianlu was originally an ordinary college student from Earth. He transmigrated into the body of a scholar who had climbed Taiyi Immortal Mountain in search of an Immortal Sect, only to find abandoned ruins and die from exhaustion and despair. Lin inherited the scholar’s appearance and memories, then unexpectedly revived after nearly dying himself on the mountain. 1

Stranded among the ruins for roughly two weeks, he survived without food or water and passed the time playing black-and-white chess alone. He recovered several relics from the mountain: a broken sword, jade flute, broken jade pendant, and chessboard. His isolation ended when Hua Shuya arrived seeking longevity for her ill elder; her reaction to their chess game convinced her that he was an unfathomable immortal senior. 1 2 3

After descending with Hua Shuya, Lin encountered spirits, zombies, and ghosts for the first time. His abnormal body and latent spiritual power allowed him to defeat a mountain spirit with ease.
