After leaving Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, Albert did not sail directly back to Britain. Instead, he took Isobel back to the house the LeMay Couple had left them and began meticulously searching every corner of it.
Watching Albert turn the place upside down, Isobel asked in confusion, "What are you looking for?"
"Something Mr. Nicolas left for us."
Albert searched through Nicolas's study, but unfortunately found nothing he wanted. Although the study still contained many valuable books, the most valuable notes and manuscripts were already in his possession.
"You mean... Mr. Nicolas didn't want Dumbledore to know?" Isobel was greatly surprised, then shook her head. "If Mr. Nicolas really wanted to leave you something, he would have given it to you earlier. He wouldn't have waited until now."
"Who knows? Maybe they didn't want Dumbledore to know. Even the best of friends don't tell each other every secret." Albert searched the bedroom as well, but still failed to find what he was looking for.
Leaning against the bedroom doorframe, Isobel watched the busy Albert and asked, "Are you that certain Mr. Nicolas left something for you?"
"Yes. If I had lived for several centuries..." Albert waved his wand and restored the messy room to its original state, "I would have done the same..."
"Don't make me guess."
"Anyway, Mr. Nicolas left his knowledge to me because he knew I didn't lack money and knew I wanted knowledge." Albert thought for a moment before saying, "If I had to explain it, call it intuition."
"Honestly."
Isobel walked over and pinched Albert's cheek in protest.
"Are you still going to keep looking?"
"Of course. I feel like I've overlooked something."
"Is it because Nicolas specifically left us this house that you suspect something might be hidden here?" Isobel voiced her guess.
