Chapter 1209: Crisis Awareness
Since the International Wizarding Federation had sent a small Auror squad into the British magical world, the chaos caused by Dark wizards had quickly eased. Yet Ministry of Magic employees in Britain still could not escape the fate of working overtime from nine to five every day—not even on Christmas Day.
Minister Scrimgeour believed that enemies would not give them time off to rest. Especially now that the situation had eased, he had become increasingly cautious, worried that the enemy was brewing some great conspiracy.
The door to the Minister's Office opened from within, and Kingsley and Arthur emerged together, quietly discussing why Scrimgeour had summoned them. Minister Scrimgeour hoped to conduct an interview with Harry and use him to keep everyone vigilant.
With the International Wizarding Federation's help, the British magical world had regained its former peace. Yet this brief calm seemed to have made exhausted people forget the cruel fact that Voldemort was still alive. The Dark Lord still threatened the peace of the entire magical world at every moment, but everyone had deliberately forgotten it.
"Scrimgeour is worried that Lord Voldemort is brewing some great conspiracy." Kingsley felt that Minister Scrimgeour's concerns were justified. Voldemort would never let things rest, no matter what. If the Ministry of Magic let down its guard, the next blow might well be the heaviest and deadliest one yet. But having everyone constantly on edge was not a solution either.
"How is the Protection Plan coming along?"
Arthur suddenly asked about the news he had heard recently. Rumour had it that the Ministry was secretly building apartments to provide Ministry employees with temporary accommodation, preventing their families from being harassed and threatened by Dark wizards and thus putting their lives at risk.
As long as the Ministry's staff
